Having been born in the 60's and a teenager in the 70's I have to admit I like the loud guitar others seem to complain a little more now that it keeps getting louder but thats ok except I have to keep buying better stereos but thats just part of life someday my hearing will be restored. We had the conversation about contemporary christian here before. remember it's not what it says it's how it's played that'll send ya ta hell. Pretty sure from my side of the fence God doesn' require harps and such to get joy from the glory He receives from the music, bckbeat or not

Thanks to God that I don't have to listen to the same stuff as my parents. And thanks to God for all the people, young and "older", who find the joy of the Lord in this music. I'm pretty sure that they would not listen to some of the other offerings.
    Never heard of this group...local?
    Thanks for sharing the words.

has anyone ever listened to U2? Take any of Bono's songs and just listen to the words. A man truly annointed by God to plant the seed in many a young mind ....... (and old)

I enjoy the rock songs, has the ability to make me think that I am just 33 years old! lol

    God Bless

Bono? Really? I'll have to look closer. I do listen to a wide variety. Mostly Rock, Some Metal, 'Heavy Classical', not so heavy, but I like Vivalldi 'Four Seasons', Country now and again. Rarely Rap, but exceptions abound in all types of expression.

Enjoyed the lyrics, and I hope Ross was being somewhat sarcastic about the "how its played' part. LOL

    Thanks,

    Mel

The how it is played part is from a heated debate awhile back with the packin preacher, one of a few. His view claimed contemporary christian was the devils tool and those in the church should not give to newcomers things thaat the outside world can already offer and I was weak in the battle against Satan
kneeling to worldy influence or something

Yeah, that was the discussion that I was remembering. I have seen Christian rock help so many kids. And myself. God wired us to respond to music. It stirs passion. I like stirring passion in our kids.
Like Larry Norman sang, "Why should the devil have all the good music?"

Mel - Bono is "the man". I've watched a concert where he got everyone to lift their hands and he even says "now let's turn this praise into a prayer". That was awesome!

Check out his song "In the name of Love" - everyone knows the corus, but do you know that it is really about Martin Luther Kind and Jesus? There are also websites where christians speak about the meanings of his songs and so many of them clearly use words such as Jesus, prayer, God, sinner etc
And I don't even like rock - but there is something about his songs that got me liking it!

    :O)

Jonah33 isn't the most well known band around. They are hard rock. Better lyrics than most hard rock. Maybe like Seventh Day Slumber.
