I have taken the Lord's prayer and prayed my own prayer and praise to each part of it. Like..Our Father, Who lives in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name..yes, Lord, how I praise Your Holy name and thank You for being there, watching us, guiding us, loving us...etc...It puts my own way of praying to Him, as well as not sounding like the canned prayer that used to come from an old church, many years ago that I went to. Does that make sense?

    God Bless,
    Kelly

Kelly, I think that is exactly what we are meant to do.

It is a shame that the Prayer of Jabez is more popular that Jesus' model prayer!

Jabez means PAIN! All he wanted was to not cause pain. So he prayed to God. And God answered his prayers! Amen!

    God's Blessings!

actually he prayed to not feel pain. Seems to me God granted a selfish prayer possibly out of pity. Not sure I guess I need to keep digging on that one. Can I add a couple of things they taught my daughter at school.
    1- ACTS
    awesome
    confession
    thanksgiving
    supplication
that one pretty much covers the Lords prayer

Yes, Jesus'teaching on prayer....We say the Lord's prayer and add what ever the Holy Spirit give is to say.....So wonderful.....Here is another beautiful prayer,Jesus prays for his own. John 17:1-26 -- This is often called the High Priestly Prayer of Christ, because He prays first for Himself and then for His own ---the Twelve, in verse 6, and all who will believe, in verse 20.

May God Bless you as you work in His vineyard. I have enjoyed your writings. With God's Love, Lois...
