Have to admit I don't go to church to pay taxes. My goal with church is to be recharged for the upcoming week in the world, so my relationship with God can continue to grow. my main intention is to be with likeminded people. Don't think I would go back to a church many times that would treat people in that manner.Jesus clears the sin from our temple just like he did back then
    Be blessed

For me, fellowship. Of course that includes fellowship with God, but it is one place I can sing and not be afraid of what anyone would say. Sorry to admit, but I am conscious of the world and the way it judges me if I profess my christianity by singing off key or doing somethign socially unacceptable. I may occassionally throw my arms in the are and say "Lord Help Me!" but I am not really the expressive type in public. Church is family. God's family where I am with brothers and sisters.

That is my view, childish or mature. I grow, but that has been the way I look at it for some time.

    Peace,

    Mel

Morning Jon, I go to Church because that is where I can find like minded people on the Lord's day. We can worship & give thanks collectively & meet to have fellowship, to hear about the needs of others & see what we can do about those needs. Sometimes in the form of financial aid, so I contribute to the needs of the church both financially & spiritually. I especially like to hear the word of God through my Pastor, who is a scholar & a servant of the God most high.
Together with My church family we can laugh, cry & do things together, like Mel without fear. That is why I love it all, because God first loved me. God demonstrated his love in that whilst I was a sinner, Christ died for me. Now I am a sinner saved by His Grace.
    Hallelujah what a Saviour. Awesome.

I MUST ADMIT, THERE WAS A TIME THAT I WENT BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO DO. NOW, I WOULD HAVE TO SAY IT IS TO SERVE AND TO LEARN AND TO BE WITH LIKE-MINDED IN WORSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP. MOSTLY THOUGH, I WANT TO SEE GOD WORK. I ANXIOUSLY GO TO GOD'S HOUSE WITH GREAT EXPECTAIONS OF WHAT HE IS GONNA DO IN OUR MIDST. YEAH STUART, IT'S AWESOME!!

    IN HIS SERVICE,

Further to your question Do you go to Church to pay taxes?
Remember the story of the Temple tax where Jesus told Peter to go & catch a fish, where inhe would find a coin to pay both Jesus & Peter's tax? See Mt. 17:24ff
Christ has paid all our taxes, he paid the price that you & me and all the people of the world would be in a position to accept God's FREE gift of Salvation through the works of Christ on Calvary.
A free gift so that no one could boast!!
    Awesome is our God.

I was saved at home alone - just me and God. Hadn't been to church for as long as I could remember except for when I got married. After being saved, I spent the next 2 years alone - just me and God. I grew plenty BUT one day He spoke to me and clearly said - "It's time you meet the rest of my family". And that was with no outside influences at all.

He even led me to the church he wanted me to go to and since then, I love going. But I won't forget how He called the church members "His family". I'll never forget that.

    God Bless
