I never that photo of Golgotha before.
I never saw that skull until you mentioned it.
Eerie isn't it! Especially becase we know what happened there!

Mary Lo, in answer to your posting the picture is one I took in Israel on our church trip. It is not very plain as that was before we bought a digital camera but it has personal value for us.
It is said that Golgotah was a place where skulls were collected. The hill is described as a place outside Jerusalem, Calvaria -Gûlgaltâ in Aramaic all mean 'skull', referring to a hill or plateau containing a pile of skulls or to a geographic feature resembling a skull.
There is History of Adam's Skull being buried at the foot of Jesus Cross and Jesus Blood ran down upon Adam's skull. There is a long story about this and it is very interesting. Maybe I can find it sometimes for you to read.
