Now a parallel in the work palce is this: People are starved for recognition and just a human touch. I will not go so far as to say give someone a hug at work, (the sad truth is, that in this day of sexual harassment, that could be a horrible risk, but take it if you feel that is what you must do...) but if someone is even a small help, it could be a nice touch now and then to just reach out and shake their hand. You just don't even see that very much any more. I expect that would shock more than one person...

Just pinging an idea off an idea, and on and on...

    there is compassion without touching
and there is touching without compassion.

What a lovely post - so lovely in fact it made me feel like a bad person (in a good way). All God ever asks is that we show His love to a rather hurting world. I fall short of that. I feel compassion, but very seldom show it. To a point, that I so desperately want to reach out and touch you right now, but have no idea what to do or say. I want to be a friend, but know that all I can promise is to be a bad friend - but a friend indeed - holding a St Joseph Lily for you. It might not mean much, but it is well meant.

    God bless

Ok, I whinned again. I actually just really liked the post she did but it did bring up some stuff.

Along with "my kids" you guys are my comforters. It says great things for you, and is a little sad about the people that I served with and actually see twice a week.
Thanks. I appreciate the thoughts and the lillies. Consider yourselves hugged.
