Hi Talker. I dont know anything about the church you spoke about. If you feel like its Gods will for you to minister, by all means go for it. You are already ordained by Christ.
In Christ.

To minister means to serve. Jesus said, "...he that is greatest among you shall be your servant." Matt. 23:11
The Pharisees needed titles and long robes and places of honor amongst men. Just go and serve. Then God will recognize you and you'll have your reward in heaven. You'll be a faithful servant, a true minister.
Ordination is something imparted by elders in a local church assembly in recognition of the calling to shepherd God's people in that assembly. According to 1Tim.2 it is reserved for faithful, mature men of God. There is an office for elder, pastor, deacon, but again, not for people seeking recognition from men, but desiring service to God.
These people that supposedly are ordaining you aren't getting their authority from the word of God. They don't know anything about your character and you don't know anything about them.
All Christians are called to be ministers. Here is your role of service, as described in the Scripture:
The aged women likewise, that [they be] in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
[To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. (Tit 2:5)
Dear sister, you already are a minister if you do these things!

Dear Sister Terri,
Greetings in the name of Jesus. You asked me a question about ordination. Ordination doesn't have to do with the amount of formal Bible training that one has. Any Church can ordain a layperson in whom they see qualities of leadership or service. But anyone who is a minister of the Gospel must make sure that what they communicate about the Bible and its teaching is scriptural.
In my case I had six years of University studies before God called me to full time ministry. I then did a two-year University program in Biblical Studies before I became a minister. Then after serving for a while, I was ordained.
But again I would like to stress that ordination has nothing to do with academics but with gifts that the Holy Spirit gives us to use for ministry in the body of Christ. And we must be faithful to God and to the Scriptures.
This is why I spend lots of time preparing from the word of God to put information on my blogs.
I hope that my blogs will help believers to identify false teaching and to stay away from false teachers.
I would like you to visit my blogs again and to leave comments. People are free to print off any information that they wish.
I will be thankful if you can give the addresses of my blogs to as many people as possible to guide them away from false teaching and from false teachers.
Blessings.
Your brother in Christ,
Joseph

If you serve in such a way that someone knows you are from Christ, I think he cares little for the piece of paper. It probably has about the same value as a 'decree of divorce' coming from man, as it were. It is an honor to take graciously and at the same time not get all puffed up about. Stay humble as you have been, serve Christ as an auto mechanic or a school bus driver or a needle sharpener, or a minister, as he calls you to do so. I would be surprised if you said you never read my blogs and the ruckus I am causing, but the truth is, I will not say no, don't do it. If that message or another is to come, God will send it and you will hear it, no matter what it says, if you are listening for it in the frame of mind of obedience...
In Faith,
Mel

I decided almost instantly to turn down that piece of paper for myself. It just made me curious about ordination .... How many people accept or "apply" for ordination that is "free"! No study of the word, nothing to spend accept $$$... what a shame to think that a "minister" could get his cerfification from the 'church of WalMart' sickens me, really. All for the glory of man... not for God. I choose to live for God and He doesn't have a certificate haning on His wall.

Sister Terri, You have received some helpful comments. My favorite Bible Verse of God's leadership is John 7:17 "If any man (woman) will do His will, He shall know...." Your ordination from God follows your willingness to do His will. However, I do not belittle serious Bible study. We would not have our English Translations if someone hadn't studied hard and long to learn Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek and many other subjects. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." As you prove your calling and ordination of God, learn and teach in Jesus' Name. Brother Doyle http://blogs.christiansunite.com/penpower
