Seek first the kingdom of God. Your right if it was just about the miracles Jesus would have done more, Paul wouldn't have been turned down numerous times when he asked for healing,My grace is sufficient was probably not the answer he was looking for.If during trials we continue to praise him, He then truly gets glory others see that and we are blessed by growth it's really a great process
thanks for the thought

Food for thought!
"Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders," Jesus told him, "you will never believe" John 4:48
I think that there are many reasons for healings. Some, so the sceptics will believe, some to increase their faith in God, some to be rewarded for their faith etc etc. Ultimately, God instructs us to lay hands on others and we are told that we will be able to do the things Jesus did "and more".
You've got me looking for answers now. ;)
God Bless

I heard the other day that of all the prayers for healing about 2% are complete cures of the illness/disease. So what does this tell us about God? Even the people that Jesus healed in the Gospels are all dead!
Pray for the peace of God which passes all understanding & you will know of His love, agape all giving love, not Hollywood gimmee, love. That is what we all need Peace & grace to accept his LOVE. Thanks

"Its like that when we pray for "healing". We are often gulty of "God, get me out of this" prayers more than prayers seeking God's will in what happens in trials. We look for the miracle instead of His purpose when real growth most often comes from go through trials - with Him."
Jon, this means a lot to me at this time. When my husband was very ill for several years needing dialysis every other day and suffering from strokes and heart failure, he always prayed, "Lord, I thank you for the place you have put me and I pray that you will be glorified through it in some way."
It used to bother me a great deal to hear him pray to his Heavenly Father thanking Him for his illness. My human nature wanted him to be with me forever. I wanted to grow old with my husband. I wanted to travel and in our retirement have our hiking business. I wanted! I wanted!
But what did the Lord want?
How important it is to pray to the Father, "Not my will but thine..." Certainly I miss my darling husband but someday we'll be reunited and worship together.
Thanks Jon!
Pat
