First of all Mel, please let me say I agree with what you are thinking. I put in the last sentence on your previous blog as I said tongue in cheek, which means in Scotland in a cheeky, funny way!
Giving sacrificially is what God wishes you to do, it is not always about money! Teaching children about charity is part of the responsible parents' task. I commend you for this.
We as parents only get one chance, there is no real teaching other than we learn as we go plus all previous experiences we have gone through. Now I am a grand parent I feel I could do a better job, but that is not an option. So we all do the best we can in our cirumstances. Looking back I kind of muddled through.
"I know of people who are so poor they only have money"!!
Keep up the good work Mel I know that he who has started a good work in you will see it through to fruition, & that includes giving your two girls the right start in life.

Stuart, I should not show favoritism (recent scripture in James I am reminded of) and yet I do. I may not comment on your blog as much, but I am certain that you are strong enough to be at peace with that.
You support. Lee reaches out. Ross and Jon challenge. Marsha is indiscriminate in lavishing comments of encouragement. Timothy has a special meaning for me in his struggles. And so on...
We all muddle through, and not just child rearing. But we are not alone. If God is for us, who can stand against us?
