Yes Jon we all need an encourager, a Barnabus who will lift us up when we are fallen. A John to tell us that Jesus is indeed the Son Of the Living God. A Paul who will tell us who to follow, when we are lost & in the need of love & care. Most of all we need an example to follow, not words of "Thou shalt not" but an example of how we are to live as Christians & humans in a world which has lost its way.
"Let us fix our eyes upon Jesus author & perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, & sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
When did we last pick up our cross, scorning its shame & consider it pure joy??

Jon, was this part of your sermon today? It sounded like you might have addressed it to your church, although it also has application for the Body of Christ at large. Either way, well done!
How did it go today? Were you boycotted, or did everyone show up? How was the wedding?
