Good luck and blessings to you all. I know how hard it is to get people to change. When we are comfortable, we like the way things are going but God's ways and purpose have a way of keeping us from getting comfortable. This is great because only through adversity and change can we grow. I also am reminded of how the Lord "thinned the herd" in the story of Gideon. Have a great day.

Believe it or not, I too have been trying to work with this very scripture - hand in hand with
Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
So, in trying to renew my mind, I fall back onto Phil 4:8 as stated. I'll post more on this soon.
1 Peter 5:8
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
I also think SELF CONTROLLED is the key here as many the battle is fought within our heads. I will pray for you Jon and request a prayer for me too.

So what if some leave and some stay? What's that got to do with you and your Lord? Focus your mind and heart on pure and lovely things will put you in a condition that is pliable to God and useable for His service. If we keep our eyes focused on Jesus, He will orchestrate the movements of His Church. Of course we all have our part in bringing this all about, but ultimately it's His responsibility. Isn't it?
