I like your quotes, Mel. The scriptures that immediately come to mind are II Tim. 1:7 (For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.-NKJV) and Phil. 4:6-7 (Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.-NKJV). The Bible doesn't tell us that we'll never have fear, but it does tell us that putting our fears into God's hands is the best way to deal with them. That's what we need to do every time one crops up.
Thanks for the encouraging words!

I was thinking that Proverbs would probably have something along this line, but I don't remember it off the top of my head...
It tells us not to be anxious. That is the gnawing fear you just can't put away and that incapacitates you. That happens to me at times, I am afraid. (pun intended)
Tired and punchy, and I still need to get back into the word for tonight...
Yee Hah! Jump right in!
In Jesus' Name,
