Curious. Nehemiah strikes me as quite pragmatic up to this point. This sounds to me like it might be sound advice. And yet, he saw it as sin, and I gather that such is the reason he refused to do it. Some of you OT scholars out there might know why it was a sin. I am not sure, nor do I need to really know at this point. I know he saw it as sin, and refused. Seems to be enough for me right now...

Nehemiah had a job to do and that was to rebuild the wall. He had taken what God wanted him to do and made it a priority, not even being side tracked by death threats. Perhaps making God's request anything less than top priority was seen in his eyes as a sin????
None the less, this in itself was confirmation for me. Thank you.
