sometimes what we see as a failure or complete breakdown in us is just what God will use to allow others to see him through us. God had a plan for Joseph from day 1 just as he does for the rest of us

Joseph's story is an amazing example of providence, it is true, but it is also an very edifying story about forgiveness. I think we as Christians often miss this or avoid it because it is not an easy story to deal with. Joseph does not just magnanimously forgive his brothers and immediately help them. Instead, he messes with their heads for awhile until in the end he is able to forgive them and does choose to help them. What does this say about the process of forgiveness?
