In truth thet looked for in the Messiah what they had been taught by those that lifted themselves above the law. If you look back you find even the disciples were found wanting when Christ died and were upset that he was gone without doing what they had been taught he would do. Untill the resurection at which point their spirits were raised as they saw the truth of what the Messiah did for the world not just the Jews and the pharises were still focused on their being above the law because obviously far more righteous than those they taught. If one seeks riches and glory from a savior then they have receeded far from what Christ said He came for

My roommate and I were signing Christmas carols last night and we read one song that I had never heard before. One verse spoke of the woman at the well being the first person to realize that Jesus was the savior. I don't know how this works with the different timelines of the gospels, but if this is true, isn't it ironic? This samaritan woman was an outcast. She was as insignificant as you could get in Jewish culture, and yet she is the first one to figure it out, not the deciples or the religous scholars.

Oh and by the way, I like the red and green, Daddy. Very festive. Megan would love it. We put up Christmas lights today, and she got very excited.

I guess I'll refer to this for part of my little trip down 'ruler lane' as I call it for lack of a better term.

So is Megan a grandchild? (of Jon)

Reading between the lines, I am afraid.

Do I look old enough to have grandkids? Oh, I guess you wouldn't know that. NO. Megan is a wonderful college roomate. She was a missionary kid in China most of her life and has a childlike wonder sometimes about life here.

Well I hope she never looses that childlike wonder (not just about life here)
