Do we do this? Not very well, I am afraid. We somehow get the idea that we need to serve God and forget that in order to do that, we need to do as he says. All of it. Teri, Jon, I don't know the people you are dealing with, but I pray this is laid upon their heart and that they will find it impossible to dismiss. In other words, that they would be convicted that something is not as it should be, and God has commanded them to set it strait. I will not tell you to be the person to go to them. It sounds like they might have something against you, but I cannot say that the scriptures say anything about the legitimacy of what they might be holding against you. The real shame would be if they held nothing against you, but avoided you out of something akin to guilt. Do you need to wait for them to come to you because yu might have something against them? I hope not, for I can see it happening where both have something, legitimately even, against each other, and where would that leave us?

I have nothing against them or anyone that I can think of. I avoid a closeness with a few because of their behavior, not sinful behavior, just a little abrasive and disruptive. I have heard many messages on this subject, as they have, and it seems to have no effect. Somehow they have allowed themselves to miss the point. Mostly, I think they need prayer and I'm glad that you are praying for them. I really don't know how to pray for them. Other people have left our church because of this woman but guess what...I'm not going anywhere! I once enquired of God if I could leave and He gave me an emphatic NO, so I'm staying!

    Amen.

For what its worth, there were two who wouldn't even look at me. One has left the church and the other just yesterday smiled and said "hello". My prayer was "God please take care of them" and He did. Each in His own way.

    Again, Amen.

And I even say Amen to the one who left. Having left, the door is now wide open to inquire as to 'why?' The answer may be what is expected, and it may not. Your own way in this must be in line with what is God's will. We may not get it right, but we must keep trying. Pray. Study. Quietly wait. Do what you believe God has led you to do.
