Appropriate choices for your eldest, Mel! We firstborns tend to go through life thinking we are supposed to know everything, so when we don't we fake it. That plaque will be a great reminder to your daughter that she doesn't know it all, and no one expects her to.

Merry Christmas to you and your family! I hope the girls cherish their daddy's handmade gifts to them.

Merry Christmas brother. Just wanted to thank you for the chit-chat this year. I posted a thank you for everyone on my blog but I wanted to thank you personally for some good writting this year. Keep it up brother. Have a blessed new year.

    Certainly?

You have to take it on faith. If you go the way of expecting perfect knowledge to make a perfect decission (in worldly terms, that is) you will get to that point that you have to realize that the more you know, the less clear the correct path to take.

Traci, I am also the oldest. I took a loooong time to figure this one out. I am intellegent enough to want to rely upon my ability to understand. My eldest, in terms of raw intelligence, I am certain exceeds me. That great strength could become a great weakness without understanding this.

    Thanks to all of you!

    In Christ,

    Mel

The spirit of the commanding officer. :) (I have not forgotten it all.)

Hey brother, I've added your article 'A Soldier's Message' to my web site as we discussed last month. Good writing.

Thanks Anders. Yes, an officer who waits for too long to get perfect information looses the opportunity to act. By the time he knows exactly what to do, it becomes what he should have done...

Monte, I am honored. I don't know that anyone has choosen to put my thoughts down like that. I almost wish for the obscurity of those artists that only 'discovered' after they have passed on to their reward. It would be easier than the emotions this causes one to wrestle with...

Think of it this way, brother; if the writers of the New Testament remained 'obscure', where would that leave us? Also, I read a great book yesterday entitled 'Dinner With A Perfect Stranger'. It's only a 100 page reading but extremely powerful. A man receives a dinner invitation with Jesus and the opportunity to ask him anything about anything. A must read. Later.

Well Monte, I think I should consider it joy that I have this to struggle with. I often think that if Paul had a sin he might have to struggle with, (what I think the thorn in his side was -- but certainly don't know that) it might be pride raising it's silly little head. If so, it seems in this too, I am in good company...

In Thanks for this Season and it's Meaning for me,

    Mel
