Morning Mel, You are on my favourite band wagon today, I will tell you a true story.
An Elder in one branch of the Church, went to the funeral of a friend who belonged to another branch of the Church. I feel that the word branch is more appropriate than Denomination.
This caring man was then "Read out" of his own fellowship where he & his family had worshipped for about sixty years.
A protestant had been thrown out of the branch of the Church because he went to the funeral of a Roman Catholic!
That my friend is really not what Christ meant, when he said, "Love thy neighbour"
That event took place here in Scotland within the last few years.
One Church, one Faith, one Lord!
That is how I would love to see it.
    Love in His Name Stuart

Wow, Stuart. I have heard of some bad things, but that has to take the cake!

My thoughts were more along the line of pressures that can be put upon people who are not active evangelists. Although I do believe that we are all to work towards the goal of bringing Christ to the world, I think the understanding of how we are to do that is dim, at best. The scholars of Christ's time had very good knowledge of God's word, but poor understanding. Each of us must come to our own understanding, and proceed accordingly. There are matters of faith, and to not follow your faith, but to give in to the pressures of anything else, even from your own brothers and sisters in Christ, is sin.

    In Christ,

    Mel

If we all reached out in what might be called the oikos method (household) or your sphere of influence than as those who are faithful continue to do so then the circle of influence begins to grow and we find ourselves surrounded by more and more faithful servants. It's a great plan. but could you expect anything less from the one who designed it?

And that reaching out is a natural progression of events...

    Thanks Ross,

    Mel
