Really, if you think about it almost everyone God used in the Bible did some major waiting. Abraham was 99 before he finally had Isaac, Moses 40 years in the dessert, Joseph sold as a slave, Paul locked up for years. Did you ever know someone who got what they wanted, when they wanted it? They aren't very deep people. Sign up for some waiting.

Well, I wonder if you speak aloud the verse you write. Only once did the meter and flow of this free verse break for me. My comment here is of a technical nature, not spiritual or poetic or even artistic in any way.

Read your poem aloud. In the place where you use the word "usually" I stumble verbally. I would say the word "oft" there, for the meter and flow.

Keep writing. I like free verse. There is more room for feeling the poem instead of just forcing it to fit. If you write like this easily, understand that you have a gift. Me, I am not gifted, just practiced. But that doesn't keep me from enjoying it...

    To Jon,
I think that I have signed up to wait. Not the easiest thing to do. I have to keep telling myself that God knows what is best and right for me. Its only when I seem to be isolated some how that I seem to falter.

    Hi Mel,
I have been writing poetry since I was 11. I have always used poetry prose to help me get my feelings out. I love to write but find little time to do so. I hope to do more writing besides just cataloging my life. But believe me, this is such a cathartic thing for me. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!! Your commments are most welcome!!

    Hi Maura,
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. _Isaiah 40:31

    God's Blessings!

    Hi Marsha!
Yes this is very true. I think we live in such a microwave society that it is so very easy to want everthing "right now". Patience is a virtue. Thanks be to God that I have people on this website that can pray with me and that I can talk to!!
