We all need to do as Joseph did. Listen for God's Voice and Obey Him!

    Hi Mel,
    Great scripture...
Listen to the voice of God, and be obedient to His will.
    Bless you now and always...

But: Which notion is correct? The first one – or the afterthought? Laban would not let Jacob marry Rebecca before he had given away Lea. Is this correct? I wonder. To Joseph, I believe, the question would be of no interest since his afterthought surely told him it was rational to act the way he in the dream was told to. But us following Jesus: Should we act on intuition – on the calling without hesitation? Or should we, as a rule, act rational? I am not sure myself.

    Just a thought.

    Thanks Guys,

Anders. Valuable question to ask. I would say yes and yes. At times, you have time to consider and then do as you think is right. It did not say that Joseph gave this no consideration, although he might not have after the dream. Up until that point, I think he probably did give it every consideration and came to the thought that he would quietly divorce her. The effect of the dream was profound enough for him to change his mind. I am sure that he could have divorced her. I am not sure enough of the Law to know whether he was obliged to divorce her for what would have seemed to be unfaithfulness, or if he had it within his rights to give mercy instead, and not just the mercy of a quiet divorce. You might know the answer to this much better than I do, I suspect.

According to The Law she, Maria, should have been stoned to death by the people. So you bring another dimension to the question and you honour Joseph.

To my question, I believed I found a clue by commenting upon Marsha’s blog the other day. Jesus said: "But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil." (Matthew 5:37) I believe in being rational – in fact this is what God made us to be (creating the animals on the ground and then, or thereby, creating man as such). But I also believe in pure faith – in being intuitive. Considered I believe in the confirmation we do by rationalizing what our intuition tells us, and I believe we should not follow any feeling or intuition if we cannot rationalize it. By us rationalizing our will or want God gives us something to stand for, something to pay justice to: We actualize the Son.

Thank you for letting me think about this.

    Anders,

I think we all do well to think these things through from time to time. There are still plenty of mysteries.

I desire Mercy. I require Justice. A dichotomy of thinking between those, and Christ is the only bridge that brings those two together...

True. And my question to myself is: Should I rely on the dichotonomy faith - hope, or should I go for the trilogy conception - breeding - birth? Should we live by the mercy of Jesus or by the wisdom of the Law? Thith ... God is just plain impossible in this respect.
But back to my question: In psychoses I have always suffered from believing my eye-sight was mediated on television, and for that reason I in the psychoses have never been able to think through or work on what I have created. That has been terrible. I believe we, by the after-thought or by rationalizing, manifest the form of what the good Lord wants us to do. And so by not always acting spontaneously (thihi!) we not only make ourselves responsible to Christ but we will perfect the love of God. I believe Joseph did not fly that actual morning. Even if he acted on faith – hope.

I'd say the wisdom of the Law as we are able and made able and the Mercy of God's Grace made manifest in Christ when we either cannot or do not.

Sounds like you don't think you should watch as much television, if I understand your statement/question. Spontenaity is not always good. It is not always bad. You can look back, but don't dwell on it. If by looking back for a short time you can't learn what God had for you to learn, don't worry. He'll run that lesson by you again!!!
