Another great message. I sure do remember
the mealtime prayer...That is what the children
need to learn today. We had a Bible teacher to
come once a week and she had us to memorize verses, which I enjoyed very much, to this day, I can quote a lot of them, because they
were instilled in me when I was young.
Yes, so true our Heavenly Father knows what we
need and when.....Also we are thankful for the times he didn't answer our prayers, because
God give His children the best......

Hi Bro Larry, I never heard that prayer as a child, but it is quite a lovely prayer even for adults. My parents were simple country folks, who could barely read or write, and we didn't have much, but they did there best. My dad would say before our meals "lord we thank you for this food". The way my dear dad said it, with such utter certainty and confidence of the source, that I always felt this Jesus whom I did not understand then as a little girl was right there with us! Thanks for great post dear brother. Indeed God is good all the time.

A very apt reminder. Sadly to say, many of the things I learnt as a child, whether it be hymns, prayers or verses, only began to mean something to me in my adult life. How blessed my children are to be able to be brought up in a home already filled with God's mercy, grace and love. I can now share the meaning of so many things with them - the things I never understood.

Hi, dear Bro Larry. Hey, I've never heard this prayer before... but then again, I was not raised as a Christian... and I was not raised in English speaking country either. So cute prayer :-) ...and yes, You are so right, at times when we ask God for something and do not get what we are asking for... we need to trust Him, as He sees the big picture, while all we see at times is our need.
