    Obvious Things:

If something is a spirit it isn't a man
If a spirit cannot be a man, it also cannot be a woman.
If it makes us more comfortable to perceive a spirit as having male or femenine qualities (that don't violate the truth) than there is nothing wrong in that. (God speaks of gathering his children under his wings - Is he a chicken?
There are many, people who chose to perceive the Holy Spirit as having male qualities.

    Mel,

I think that we ought to accept at face value what is written. Submissiveness is not what we think that it is. Too often we allow our thoughts to become God's thoughts and that screws up our perception of what is reality and truth. God created man in His image, which was a plurality. Since God is a plurality, He is never alone. He looked at man and provided a way for him to not be alone in the creation. We are male and female, it does not follow that God is composed of the same genders.

    In love,
    Eric

You are both right. I tend to follow convention in describing the Three Aspects of God. I do not disallow for other discriptions. As I said, the one that is most likely for me to get my panties in a bunch over is calling God the Father God the Mother. But I understand that my understanding is not the end of the matter. So I try to make an allowance where I can and will try not to elevate this to arguements that have life beyond their merit. My post must be way off if the impression was given that I would insist on anything...

    In Truth,

    Mel
