    Hi Bro.Jon,
So glad to hear the study went fine, I thought it was great. Teaching Adult Sunday School is great, I hope you get to do that more often, as you are a great teacher. A person will be very disappointed if they go to Church to be a people pleaser, which a lot do. You are so right the service needs to be our Love for God, and Him alone.
Jon, you are passing all the test very good. Yes, truly knowing God will result in Praise and Worship, as our Lord so inhabits that. Our focus of prayer should be God's will and not ours. Wow, what a spiritual service there would be, if all would come to Praise and Worshop God, leaving everything else outside, before entering the house of Prayer.

Great Post Jon, enjoyed it very much...
God bless and keep up the good work....
    With God's Love,
    Lois J.

I never saw the one about the servant's heart but it will cause me to think deeply. I sometimes wonder if one ever comes to the place of serving without the thought of self. Is there possibly a point that we can come to that God is more important than the ministry? We serve willingly but do we have to hide the desire for recognition or self-fulfillment? When my class dwindles down to almost nothing and I find myself hurt and frustrated, what is the core reason for my particular emotions? Is it because I'm afraid people are missing out on learning about God? No, it's because me ego is not being appeased. When my prayer group starts out with 11-14 or so people and a year and a half later is just 4, why do I lament and consider ending it? Yeah...
Don't get me wrong, I am no where near being so steeped in self as I once was. In fact, it amazes me how much I am not dwelling on these things anymore. Time was, my thought process would continue churning out speculations and worries about the future state of things. Now, not so much. I just try to ride the waves and let God be God. Wherever, whatever, whenever, this is His ministry. Just His!
    I really love Him.

Trying to be in HIS service,

Thanks Lois, you are very kind, as always.
Teri, my "adopted" son Billy, made a point about competative teaching, comparing our lesson to whatever was taught before. How messed up is that? I do it all the time. As I'm sure many pastors do with their sermons.

But I'm getting better. And its been this very tough year of rejection that is teaching me. Just think how I could have wasted this lesson by going to another church and getting any well intentioned sympathy and encouragement. (How could they let you go? You are a fine teacher) I don't mean everyone is meant to always stay, but I was. We shouldn't always look for the fastest way out of our trials.

Oswald Chambers states that when someone pities us, they only make us that much weaker.
Why do we look for something that will only cripple us?
Are we not a wacky group of kids?

I know just where you are comeing from. I teach the adult class from time to time, and it is hard, when you feel like everyone knows more than you about the Bible. Or at least thats my case.
    In Gods Love.
