24Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. 25He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.
Acts 18:26 (NIV)
The point I think some might miss is that even a 'learned man' can be taught if they are wiling to learn, and that something as fundemental as misunderstanding the Baptism of Christ is not a reason to outright reject a person.
We just get a little full of ourselves now and again and start acting superior. We are not! You and I are brothers. Neither or us has any greater claim to Christ through any presumed superiority of our own. People get that impression from me at times, and for that, I am truely sorry. I speak strongly. That does not make what I say any more valid. Nor any less.
Blessings,
Mel

Hi Mel!
As far as having people mistake speaking out strongly against sin as expressing superiority, been there and done that. I get up on my "soapbox" from time to time and preach in a fashion that can be assumed means that I feel that I am above everyone else. The reality of it all is that I am as much a sinner as anyone else on this planet of ours. We have all come short of the glory of God, we have all gone astray like sheep. None of us are superior to anyone else, we are all created equal. I merely desire to spread the Word of God to those who have never heard it before, and to bring greater understanding to those who have read it, and who have accepted Christ as their Lord. Whatever gifts Christ has given to me must be used to help uplift others around me, it is an imperative.
Grace and peace be yours
