It sounds like you know what should do. I agree that he needs to find his own way and you guys need to give him some space.
Are you still looking for a new church? I have been praying that you will find your way and if a new place of worship is where you should go then I pray you will find it soon.

I also agree that Josh needs space to work with the youth. God has another plan for you.
God is time, we must wait for His timing.
As we all know He had a plan and a purpose for
our lives before the foundation of the world.
Proverbs 3:5 -- Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. v6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
THREE COMMANDMENTS ARE GIVEN:
1. Trust -- meaning, rely on, depend on.
2. Lean not -- meaning do not depend on your own native instincts;
3. Acknowledge Him -- meaning have fellowship and intimacy with God in all of life. The results of such devotion is that God will make the paths straight before you. kjv

Thanks you guys. It seems like we can stay at this church and try to model and encourage grace to a congregation that really needs it. (Not that I am strong at that, I am just very concious of grace lately.)We resigned from youth work yesterday but will still do some college teaching for a while.

Gotta tell ya, I feel a little squeezed at my church too. Certainly not to the extent that you're feeling it, but it's there. It's hard to sit on so much passion and just wait, wait for a window or a door to swing wide. Wait while others seem to be flourishing. Wait to hear from God. W-A-I-T........
Perhaps we can make all the sighs and foot tapping sound like a harmony of praise.
