I agree with you. Sometimes, we put time limits on things as well, forgetting that, God's timing is not ours. So, if we don't hear something in one week, one month, even one year, we figure it is unanswered prayer. What it truly is, God working in our lives and answering prayer to His Perfect Will for the path we are on. Sometimes we need to learn and that is what our answer to prayer is. Sometimes, we need to come closer to Him before He will answer prayer. Sometimes, prayers are answered in a way that we don't like, but He knows it is what is good for us.
