Your comments are so true. In my own experience as a mother of three I certainly know about hearing the answers "yes", "no" or "wait".
Five years ago I had this dream of starting a Christian business that would help to support persecuted Christians around the world, and also to help Christian organizations like Life Outreach International. I asked God to show me whether He was in on it with me. In so many different ways he confirmed that he wanted me to do it. But five years down the line I have had so many setbacks. The business got off the ground but I have not been able to devote the time necessary to make it a success.
We have prayed as a family that God would bless this effort but as I said, I just cannot find the time to settle down and make it work.
I remember my teenage son telling me, "Mom, I'd really like God to bless your business, but could you make me this one promise--that when he blesses you, you would not be too busy to spend time with me." My son is still attending high school, and as you probably realize, school is not really one of the nicest places to be these days.
Yet, over and over I hear and read all those assurances that God will make our dreams come true. I've been reading GOD'S LEADING LADY by T.D. Jakes and I'm encouraged by it.
Presently, instead of concentrating on the business, I find myself working with a group of noisy community kids on a project that's growing larger and larger. Here I have the great responsibility to mold these lives in order to prevent our community from lawlessness that comes from leaving young people unsupervised. This is what God wants me to do now. The business will have to wait.

Hi, On this idea of ministry I have been blogging on the subject through the month of march on my main blog http://devotionalprayerjournal.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
I have found that God always answers prayer about ministry because it's His will to use us. Sometimes it's in a different way than we expect. But praise the Lord He does use us!
