    Hi Jon,
I loved the way you described how we are to comfort people.
You really have a great way of teaching.

As far as what I have been through - I grew up in an alcoholic, dysfunctional home with lots of yelling and nervousness and unrest.
But, now I am going through a wonderful, joyful, season of my life.
And I thank God for His mercy and being there always for me!
    God bless you, ML

Bro, one of our missionaries recently said that his biggest worry was not to waste the opportunity his cancer was giving him to glorify God. I am sure that have similar thoughts. God bless you.

M.L. Thanks. I went to use that great verse of yours and I had the reference wrong. Shame on me, I didn't look it up ahead of time.
I hope you can see from the post how great it fit with the lesson. No worries, I will use it to remind next week. Is 58:10

    Hi Jon,
    Enjoye your great message.
Yes, the Holy Spirit is our comfort.
We comfort others with the same comfort we received from God.
    God of all Comfort.
I have been through many things.
But God Grace was sufficient in every circumstance.
    God of all Comfort.
God bless you Jon, keep up the good work in the vineyard of our Lord.

Some of those things I suffer, I put myself there, and not generally for the glory of God. I do think you touch on a very good point though on how we can comfort those better who we understand because we have been there. I read this and wonder "How many more miles, Lord? How many more?"

Just keep sloggin' and a doggin' along. You think?

    In Christ,

Jesus was tempted and tried in every way that He might understand us, that He might be able to come along side. I think that if I could, I would erase much of my past and yet it is much of my past that makes me reachable. I have sat and listened to people talk about crack addiction and living in their van. I have prayed with those bound by other chains, addictions, pains.
Yeah, I took myself into the depths of sin. And yes, I'm sure that God would rather we never live sinfully. However, it is just like God to take my handful of ashes and exchange them for beauty. The beauty part of that equasion....other people.

    In His Service,

Mel, it seems the answer is "As many as it takes" and its its justified by the bleeding man carrying the cross ahead of us.

    Thanks Lois, you too.
Terri, you certainly have the gift with words. Keep on preaching. (Like you had a choice)

Hi JOn. A truly inspiring message. And the funny thing - no matter what we go through, there are others far worse off than us! Not only does God use our trials so that we can comfort others, but we too grow and learn so very much from even the smallest setback. Lovely post.

    God bless
