Amen, Mel! I've heard it said that if God has to speak to you in an audible voice, then He is shouting because you aren't paying attention. :-)
The Bible tells us that for the believer, our spirit will bear witness with the Holy Spirit when He's trying to guide us. Of course, we need to compare what we sense we're being told with what the Bible says about the matter, but the point is that God doesn't leave us without insight and direction in this world; we just have to be attentive to His guiding. I'm like you in that; I've found messages from Him in unlikely places, and I've also heard that "still small voice" people talk about when they sense God speaking to their spirits. Funny thing, though; that still, small voice sounds a lot like my own speaking voice, so I have to be really careful not to automatically assume it's God talking to me in my head. Of course, that's where the scripture about testing the spirits comes into play.
Anyway, thanks for the post, Mel. We can hear from God in all sorts of ways, if we'll just pay attention. Have a blessed day!

Funny thing Traci. You speak exactly on where I was going next with this. Testing the spirit is something many fail to do. Sometimes, there is not time to do so. Train yourself, then, so that when it comes, the response can be quicker. Other things you have all the time that is needed. Is it The Holy Spirit or another spirit? It is important to know that!

Mel

ROFL!
jetaime, your english is understandable enough, and if not, I will question you so that you know I do not understand. I think you have the greater challenge here, so if the way I say something is hard to follow, do not be afraid at all to ask me to simplify and restate in smaller pieces. I'll do what I can, and others may interprete for me as if I were 'speaking in tongues'!
As for your mistake, if that is the worst, you are truely blessed there sister, and it would be great indeed to hear you suprise yourself in saying that is the worst you did in a while!
AMEN,
Mel

Jetaime, we know it's not easy being Quebecoise in an English-speaking world. You're doing just fine and we understand you. Nous t'aimons beaucoup, ma soeur!
Mel, you know it's not just the Canadians you have to make yourself clear to; we U.S. people gotta be able to follow you, too! ;-)
Y'all have a wonderful day, abundantly blessed of the Lord!

Mel, I've actually taken time to read some of your thoughts! Ooo-wee! Enjoyed the birthday gift to yourself. There sure is a lesson there for all of us: when the Holy Spirit checks us, we need to WAIT -- for He has something better in mind. And when I read this post of yours, one of my poems came to mind. I hope you don't mind if I share it here: God Chooses What He Uses
God chooses what He uses; it’s not for me to say
And He uses what He chooses each and every day
It may be a fire or a donkey or a stone
He chooses what He uses to make us His own
The plan and the choice before the world was ever made
Was Love beyond degree – the Price that He paid
Mercy and grace He chose for you and me
So won’t you choose Jesus for Life eternally
Oh, come now to Jesus He alone will set you free!
(by S.A.O.Maxwell) God bless. Serving Jesus with Joy, Sharon

Traci,
I know. My children are often bewildered by what I say. At least they have learned to question me when this is so, and they desire understanding. So, in that case, I am free to sometimes be obtuse. Be like them and ask, just as we ask our Heavenly Father! I am giving you a chance to practice with one you should not fear offending with a question, mistakenly thinking (wrongly) that the question is too stupid to ask -- if you desire the answer, the question is not stupid. Now the answer may not be forthcoming in the form you desire, but I will do my best! And if I cannot answer, there is one who can answer any question! Ask it of Him!
Sharon,
Good stuff. If you read my comments all over, I am hardly always on subject, so that does not matter. This is on subject, so much the better! Funny that it should line up with what jetaime said. I am assuming this was written some time ago...
In Christ,
Mel

Now, Mel, you know I'm just teasing you! I cut my literary teeth on Jane Austen novels, and believe me, if I can follow her garden-maze sentences, I can understand you! Sometimes I have to reread it a couple of times, but I get what you're saying.
