Amen! God bless you Marsha, all of us christians are consantly under attact from the devil...where there is good to be done, evil is always present.....Satan always has a counterfit for everything, because he cannot create anything.

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.
    Love you, with God's Love

A while back, a member of my Bible study group bought "The DaVinci Code." Since she was a fairly new Christian, she wanted my opinion as her teacher about the story, so I read it. I told her that as a piece of fiction, it's well written; however, if you're not sure what you believe and solid in the truth about Jesus, God and the Bible, you shouldn't bother with reading "The DaVinci Code."

I don't necessarily recommend or condemn the book and movie; I do think that we as Christians need to be prepared to help people sort the lies out from the truth if they ask us questions. There are a number of books and videos available now to do that, so you don't have to read the book or see the movie in order to speak knowledgably about the themes and claims in the story.

Dan Brown is an excellent story teller, but we have to keep in mind that he's writing fiction, no matter how much research he claims to have put into it. Ultimately, we need to be ready to refute untruths in any form, be they from TV shows, songs on the radio, movies, the Internet, or wherever.

You may remember a movie that came out about 20 years ago, "The Last Temptation of Christ." The hype about the movie was exceeded only by the protests against it. Far from damaging the movie's success at the box office, the protests actually piqued many people's curiosity and made them decide to see the film to find out what all the fuss was about. There's a saying that any publicity is good, because it generates interest in the thing being publicized. So, while we definitely shouldn't just stand idly by when anti-Christian nonsense is portrayed as a story based on factual research, I'm not sure a lot of high-profile protesting is the best solution either.

I think the best solution is for us to just pray for God to lead us, and then talk about what we know with anyone who asks and is open to listen to what we have to say.

Anyway, there are my thoughts about the whole controversy, for whatever they're worth. God bless y'all as you stand for His truth however He leads to you do so.

As an aside, the 'Sci Fi' channel is doing an expose of the Book and/or Movie. The hype they are putting out is leading me to believe that they are going to rake the author over the coals, but I will know when I see it. The interesting thing for me here is that 'Sci Fi' is generally seen as anti-christian in its viewpoint, generally. So Thursday, I hope Ican see it, or at least record it!

    Be Blessed,

    Mel
