sounds to me like you figured it out pretty well. Thats what his ministry was about- obedience- you see the message he received had nothing to do with how those he was going to preach to reacted instead it was abouthim being obedient to speaking God's word and not sinking to their spiitual level. He probably understood the vision much more easily than we would, because of some particularslike the cherubim which are asymbol of God's presence, as is the fire which surrounded Him. what I find interesting is that God is setting on a saphire throne. saphire was originally the love stone. what he got out of it more than anything else was the fact that God was there with him even though he was away from home.
Good job

Obedience... hummmmm... that is what God expects from us as well! imagine that!
This is the one thing that we all can give to God... and that is why God looks for our obedience.., and when He finds it He is able to do things for us that we cannot begin to understand!
Nothing ever changes!

What Paul describes as the mystery of the heavenlies!
Once heard a preacher that he had heard of this narrative as describing the plans of a "Moon Buggie" as used on the moon landing!!!
Obedience to God sounds fine to me, wish I could say that I was that bedient!
