Ask them what their life means to them. This is a dnagerous question, but it needs to be asked. Press them on their answers. Accuse anything that seems wishy washy as being just empty platitudes. WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE?!?
My answer may not be yours. If you have a better one, that fires your passion more hotly, use it if it is scriptural.

Ecclesiastes 12:13
13All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.
We are all fallen creatures. Is it any wonder that the church itself could have such manifestations? If they see it, should they confront it? Yes!!! Go past the fear and do somethng like that and you will find the passion.
Wear dingy clothes to church for the sake of the church. Someone will challenge them on that eventually.
James 2:1-4 (NIV)
1My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism. 2Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. 3If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," 4have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
Be sensitive to the fact that a person can dress nicely because they believe that they do it to honor God. If that is what is in their heart, they only need to understand not to judge on mere physical appearances.
They want passion? They should be willing to show passion, not fear!
Invite someone so despised that people will ask questions to diner. Maybe some that needs a bath is good enough. Maybe not. God will have no problem providing you with such a person. Show them hospitality and love for Christ's sake! Find them under a bridge if you have to and wake them out of a drunken stupor!
I am being deliberately extreme. We are called to turn this world on its ear. These young people are Ho Hum with the church. Are they so Ho Hum about everything? Rattle their cage. Get them out of their box.
God Bless them, they have such potential. God created them to do great things, if only they could realize that!

Sometimes your passion for God cools because you ahve let the cares of the world creep in and steal your joy in the Lord. You have bought into the lies that that ole sepernt the devil has been whishering in your ear.If you will listen he will tell you that you don't have time for God or for Gods people. He will try to keep you away from your brothers and sisters in Christ because he knows that is where we draw strenght from where we get fed Gods bread, where we become strong, sure of what is right and wrong in the world. God speaks to us even when we are alone, dont get me wrong there, but where two or three are gathered together Jesus said He would be in our mist. If they truly want to regain their joy,& passion they need to meet with Gods chosen on a regular basis. God bless you always, all the way.

Friday nights talk went "pretty well" according to my son. I followed the outline thatI had written here. We will meet again Sunday night. I'll try to work it into a post soon. Thanks everyone.
