Wow John - that certainly is food for thought. The whole lukewarm issue is indeed a reality in church today, but I must admit that I dp not have the foggiest of how to change that. At least they are in church while seeds are being planted intead of missing out on foundations. Perhaps pastors should be more straight forward and blunt, but would that not scare them all away?

I think there are certain factions of todays church that are functioning properly but as a general statement yes it is as I stated earlier not even lukewarm it's cold and the ice is thickening. christians have let the door open for secularists to squeeze in and impose their will. Look at what happened to Solomon, at the end of his life. when we allow ourselves to have exceptions to what God says oronly partialy commit ourselves to living the life we open the door to sin and once its in we start to clean around it and make a place for it. the whole while it works to put the fire out and diminish our faith. I think that in the name of drawing more through the doors we have given up some of what is God. to many only preach God's love and blessing hoping to draw a bigger crowd. while they may get the bigger crowd part of that crowd does not understand the entirety of God and are not truly committed. Thats why you have the 80/20 rule so alive in todays church. It is my belief that the messages were directed at the seven churches mentioned but through those messages we had better take the message you can find a little bit of all of them in each and everyone of us

What is the 80/20 rule? Would that be 80 church-goers, 20 on fire Christians? Just wondered, never heard that expression before.
