    From Daylights for today...

I have always combined that verse with Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Think about it cast out he was yet at this point he still has the ear of God. Who would you rather approach God on your behalf? satan, or yourself? Approach God and the word prayerfully, don't let satan speak for you. Mel you should look at apologetics. most don't approach it with logic and your abilities in that area would be a huge asset

If what I choose to say is apologetics, so be it! I search only for truth. It is a hard search, I find myself often having to reevaluate what I believe, because it must fit together and not contradict itself, and at times, the only way to do that is by faith.

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh FAITH......
    2005-11-20 08:41:34 Posted by Lee ()

Yes. I seek undertanding and yet am frustrated because it is not perfect. Truth is, it never will be, nor can it be, and I understand that. Therefore, only one thing can bridge the gap because of my imperfection, and that thing is called Faith!!!

I am pretty sure you were baiting this, Lee. Maybe not intentionally, but I think you understand already what I mean, since I know you got a glimmer of this reading that big old honking thing I put on my other blog to illustrate part of this. Very likely you already understood what has taken me a long time to wrap my mind around. I am intelligent, and yet I can be so blind.

Intelligence is a gift and a burden. Humility will come, either as a blessing now, or as something forced upon us at judgement. I push the former to avoid the later.

    Be blessed,

Sorry to take so long to post this message, but you really got me going there. Had to take a while to think about it, and even wanted to do a few scripture verses, but just don't have time right now. Definately not intentionally baiting this, but I know exactly where you are coming from.

The bible tells us that God gives each of us a different measure of faith. WHY? I look at myself and I look at the Mel I know via the blogs. Where I lack, you have, where you lack I have. I have been blessed I think with quite a bit of faith - blind faith. There are cerain things I just believe. I cannot explain why other than "because God said so", and nothing can change my point of veiw. It makes my journey all that much easier. I can accept grace and mercy without even worrying about it. Yes, I have moments where I feel unworthy, but I bet plenty less moments than you.
I understand your intelligence as both a gift and a burden. For a female, I believe I have a fair amount of logic, which I use a lot in my work environment and in my everyday life, but when it comes to God and the bible, my faith supercedes my logic. Because of that, reading your next post and the messages from Ross, I disagree in the fact that why should I question His word. It the TRUTH, and that's good enough for me. However, I do understand that should I search, I may receive revelation, and it's that revelation that is hidden until God wishes to reveal it to you.

So, to someone like yourself with great intelligence, you might need to understand before accepting, and perhaps that is what is meant by "becoming like children". Young children just accept - blindly, because they have not reached the need to understand yet. They just believe.

So, Jesus died on the cross to take away your sins. You did absolutely nothing to deserve it, but He did it purely because of His great love for you. By faith you accept it, and condemnation falls away. We need to stop over analysing and learn to just accept. Very much like how small children accept that the tooth fairy and father Christmas is real. Just believe whatever the Father tells you.

Do I make sense, or am I just rambling?
