Moses' face glowed after he saw just a glimpse of God. In fact it glowed so much that he had to wear a veil over his face before other people could stand to look at him.
You are just passing through but as long as you work with Him while you are here He will make life here so exciting and fulfilling that you can enjoy the ride!

I must admit that I was a bit uneasy with "We were never meant to be happy here". I don't believe that God would put me here on earth for 70 plus years witout wanting me to be happy. Yes, happy on earth will be nothing compared to "happy" in heaven, but none the less, let me enjoy every moment on earth while I can. Anyway, He makes me happy - I can't help it! ;O)
I am really enjoying this, please don't stop. Thanks a million!!!!!

Not happy here as meaning yearning for something better still. I understand. I steal small moments of happiness here and dwell in them as long as I can, but happiness in this life is a dangerous thing. Worldly contentment lets you begin to think that this is good enough, when it truely is not!
One of the happiest moments of my life was when my first daughter was born. Naked and not at all happy, she was raising quite the ruckus. Then she heard my voice, recognized it, and calmed down. I openly wept at that, I was so filled with joy.
Mark that as a glimmer of what we mean to God, and the joy we can bring to him when we recognize his voice calling to us.

My dear Mel! That was one of the most touching things I've ever read! And you're right, we do have "glimpses" of what we assume happiness to be .... I want to thank everyone that feels moved to comment on my blog. Although I post for myself as a journal I feel good to know that my walk with God is a message for others.....
