Hi Lois J. Yes we are indeed called to be salt and light, to make a purposeful godly impact for Christ in the lives of those around us and to exceed our phyiscal bounds and limitations through the power of prayer, for the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much.May the Lord bless and increase you to keep on provoking the saints to always give Christ the best, even as He has given us.

I agree to a point sister. However, for some, that purpose may not seem to include order and may be haphazard as we me see it, but full of Meaning from God.

If you are truly led in the Spirit, at times it will take you places you would not rationally go to. Examine the spirit that guides you. That is only wise. But don't put too much faith in your own understanding. Seek understanding, knowledge and wisdom, yet in the end, rely upon God and His Word. A spirit that leads contrary to His Word could not be the Holy Spirit.

It is good to seek to order your steps and even be purposeful when the physical steps seem haphazard.

My only worry here, Lois, is that someone whose purpose is greater than you or I might be discouraged by what we say. I am weak, compared to many, and I cannot judge what they do. I am strong compared to others, and to them, I must be gentle and supportive, not holding them in contempt.

If we are a musical instrument (which is not a biblical analogy, I know) the chord I resonate to will be different than your own. Alone, they are pitiful, thready and maybe even horrible sounding, but together, they make a beautiful symphony to the Lord, diminished by each string we silence.

Let us be careful to order our steps in accordance with the Lord's Will for us and let others do the same.

You give good council and you take me well, as sorrowfully lacking in tact that I am. As always, take the good in what I say and throw the rest away. I know you are strong enough to withstand my foolishness at times, and your willingness to put up with me is something that makes me love you even more.

    Steadfast as I can be,

    Mel
