Great post! Here is a good verse from God's Word. "For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken."
Proverbs 3: 26
In His Love

You know, sometimes our witness will be powerful. Other times we will barely make it. Just reading in "Eric Rajaniemi's Blog: James 1:22; Romans 1:20" before this and the number 7 was at the front of my mind. So out pops this:
Proverbs 24:16-18 (NASB)
16For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again,
But the wicked stumble in time of calamity.
17Do not rejoice when your enemy falls,
And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;
18Or the LORD will see it and be displeased,
And turn His anger away from him.
I extended this because of Thanksgiving coming up and the seed Lee planted in my mind: I am not equally thankful for all my brothers and sisters here, and I see that as a failing. This puts a sharper point on the thought. I do, regretably, sometimes rejoice in the failings of others, not because God is Working something Great in them by this, but only in the base fleshly way of enjoying their torment, possibly thinking in the Old Testament way of an "eye for and eye" and thinking somehow they torment me. That is unworthy. So I need grace yet for another thing.
And so I feel guilty calling you one of my most dear brothers, for my measure is not one of Christ's but the base and imature measure of a child, and you deserve more than that...
In Truth,
Mel

Yes, bro Larry, if it was the only promise the Lord had given us, it is a powerful one - to be able to spend eternity with Him. What is 70-90 years of life in this world compared to eternity?! Nothing! Yeah, we sure can be confident in Him... and rejoice in our future.
Many, many blessings to You,
