Must admit that I am not a pet lover at all, but I do so love our German Shepard. I know what you mean when you talk about loyalty.
At our last house, he was even protective of our next door neighbour. She was often alone during the day, and when she had someone come over like the plumbers or electrician etc, he would jump the wall and lie by her back door until they were gone! She loved it.
Isn't it funny how we sometimes grow to love the things we hate?
    God Bless

I realized after all these years that God brought Max into my life to calm me down. In the beginning, I saw it as the complete opposite.

Maybe being "rubbed the wrong way" is God's way of smoothing us out. :)

Ya know I've got two dogs one a shepard dobie mix hewas abandoned or ran away from home . nobody claimed him and I got evicted from an apartment because of him, he is the best dog you could ever ask for he would protect my family with his life, no doubt about it. the other is a rot, lab mix goin on 4 years old now she is still a puppy and i don't think she will ever grow up. He likes attention, she demands constant attention. She might protect my family if it came down to it,who knows but her bark when she wants to let you know something is going on is scarry. He will sneakup on someone and not let them know he'ss there. Both are black and tan so in the dark you cant see them. It's kind of funny to realize they work as a team one draws attention the other sneaks up. wouldn't want to run accross the two of them if I didn't know them. They are both amazing with kids I've watched them have their tails pulled, their hair pulled, kicked, hit and they still love kids, I don't know why but maybe they know more than we do. Okay so we all have the greatest dogs in the world. when you look at that relationship if we all approached God the way a dog approaches us the world would be a much better place
    Be blessed

Ross, that was great. I love watching our dogs interaction with each other and with us. It's astounding.
