This is one of my favorite scriptures. Alot to be learned here...
I believe, in this busy, hectic, world that..
A lot of us could learn from "Martha" being anxious and troubled about many things. "Big Mistake"! Mary chose the good portion. Seated at Jesus feet and listening to His teaching. Let's not get too busy to choose the good portion.

Hi Marsha. sorry you could not get into my website. Tried it myself and it seemed to work fine. Perhaps you put a dot wrong or something. I am always doing that! The story of Martha and Mary intrigues me. I understand exactly what you mean about Mary taking the time to listen to Jesus while Martha was flapping about. But then I know what it is like in my house when somebody is expected to visit or worse still; not expected. The wife does get into a fluster and it is panic stations to get the place tidied up. I would not condemn Martha completely because she was likely trying to get the tea ready and get the buns out and a hundred and one things else to do. If I was visiting I would be glad to see someone like Martha getting the teapot on. But then again; it was Jesus who was the guest; and when He's there; nothing else matters. He comes as guest in the Bible but magazines are preferred instead. He comes as a guest in a gospel programne but we prefer to switch it off and watch or listen to something else. You are right. When Jesus is the guest; He should get undivided attention.

    God bless Marsha

Hi Marsha, this is one of my favorite scriptures,Yes Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Yes, she was at Jesus feet, Mary is remembered for her spiritual desire and discernment. The act of her anointing Christ in anticipation of His death is a lasing memorial to her. But Martha was worried and troubled about many things. Martha seems to be the eldest sister, So I guess she worried about all the others and what had to be done.

God bless you and yours now and always.
