I am not sure what you thought the status of your sister was. So it is sad to hear. I just don't know how sad.
As for you worrying about what you say:
1 Corinthians 4:2-4 (NIV)
2Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 3I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. 4My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.
Don't prejudge what you will say Bro. You certainly cannot make a bigger mess than I, and although I have slowed up a bit, I am not stopped or silent. Only God is my (and your) judge. Remember that, and his great mercy and grace.
Don't worry about what I think, or even what you think of yourself. But, I understand the difficulty in speaking in these situations. This is not meant as a chastisement. I intend to encourage. Think not that I am saying your silence is doing anything wrong, for I do not think that at all. I am keying on the reason you gave.
Take what time you need. Talk when you want. Call me a little bit off or even a fool if it helps. I will smile and nod in agreement...
