Oh well, I guess you gotta start somewhere...
Just don't let the girls read your blog until this post is buried by newer entries!

For telling us this story, may you one day know what it feels like to put your foot into a warm squishy smelly slipper!!!! :O)

    What a story..........

Well, my wife knows this one, but I hope she won't share. My dad did not when they came to visit, and although a few others know this one, I am hoping none will find the time that this seems to be the best to share with them until the youngest is a little older at least. I think the older one is past the age where she would think she could claim innocence of knowledge, although maybe she could...

I do think there must be a lesson in here somewhere, but I am hard pressed to find it and express it...

    In Laughter,

    Mel

    Hi Mel,
Just something to think about, concerning your lesson on slippers. (Examine your Spiritual walk).
In Psalm 37:23-24.. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delighteth in His way. v24- Though he fall, he shall not be utterly castdown: for the Lord upholdeth him wtih His hand.

Eph.6:15 -- And your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace (means eagerness). The Romans soldier wore special shoes called Caligae on his feet, enabling him to advance against his enemy. So Chritians must have on his feet (possess) a sense of eagerness or willingness, to advance against the devil and take the fight to him. This comes from the Gospel of peace.

1Peter 5:8 - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Matthew 26:41 -- Watch and Pray, that ye enter not into temptation: The Spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. kjv

Beware who you come in contact with, and who is over you and around you. Seek to find out something about them, before you get to close to them, could be someone here or at work or any place, who knows. The enemy will use someone or something that looks so real, will try to lead you down the wrong path. Take heed, don't listen to them (because you know God's word and the truth, Stand and still stand, you will be a great witness for Jesus) because those slipper you see them wearing are full of slick slimy stuff, SIN.....

Now you can start with your lesson or finish ths one. ok.

    God bless you and yours....
    With God's Love,
    Lois

I understand that some might think this unwholesome. It is not "refined", true enough.

Christ spoke in probably about the way we would think of "Trailer Trash" speaking today. The Aramaic that he spoke was not the "High Language" of the day. It was considered as "unbecoming" of the Messiah as talking to Prositutes and Tax Collectors was. Many were blinded by preconceptions, or they would have seen clearly who Jesus was.

Forgive me for offending. I tried to couch my terms somewhat circumspectly. However, despite what you may think of the subject matter, I find it hard to believe that the subject matter itself should be totally unwholesome for any discussion. If that is so, I'd probably find no mention of this subject in God's Word. But something specific comes to mind:

    Ezekiel 4:15 (AMP)

15Then He said to me, Behold, I will let you use cow's dung instead of human dung, and you shall prepare your food with it.

To me, the idea of arguing over having to cook my meals with it seems a little more extreme than: "What did I just step in?"

But, I understand that we can be sensitive at times to different things. If I ignore what precipitated the advice, the advice itself is good and sound. It is a fairly complete piece.

Most of all, I appreciate the Heart behind the advice and it's intent. Forgive me. Even Christ did things where he said: "But, so as not to offend" and there is nothing wrong in forgoing something that you otherwise feel free to do.

And Isaac -- "He Will Laugh"

    Somewhat Chagrined,

    Mel

Mel, what in the world are you apologizing for? Even though I found the whole poop-in-the-slipper episode gross, I'm a girl - I'm supposed to find it gross. At the same time, I was laughing at your story.

And Lois, I'm amazed, girl! Nice job making a message out of a mess! :-)

And last, I agree with you, Mel - I'd hate to think about dung heating my meal, let alone which source God had commanded me to use to cook it! I know He was making a point with that prophetic exercise in the culinary arts, but ick!

    Anyway, here's hoping y'all have a relatively poop-free day! :-)
