Funny thing. I don't know how often it happens to me, but it happens often enough. I go seeking (with my head, still as stubborn to rely upon my own understanding) an answer that I may even think I already know, and then what comes in front of me is a scripture that speaks to me loudly about something entirely different that I am being blind to. I hope to always find a wry sort of amusement in that...

Mel, I have just read Ross's blog where you say that you can;t count how many battles you have lost. I can't seem to understand why? To me, God does not loose battles as they are all already won. The only suggesting I can make, is the book "He came to set the captives free" by Rebecca Brown. I read this shortly after being saved and I can say that with God I have never lost a battle.
Are you talking battles of life, or spiritual battles? You make mention that you are trying to do it in your own strength? WHY?

Why? I am stubborn and proud. The battles are more of the momment to momment thing, the day to day fights. Sorry, but hot off of a victory, I seem to need humbling. Still haven't gotten past that yet...

What I've been going through reminds me of a fight I saw between Evander Holyfield and Riddick Bowe. Holy field was getting beat up,and all of a sudden there he was bent over, drool hanging out off his mouth about a foot. He was out, he just didn't know it. then Bowe hit him with an uppercut that stood him straight up and somehow woke him up because he won the fight. I can't help but think I got nailed with that uppercut Friday and now I,m back in the fight or at least Jesus is,because it's all him now I can't recover on my own, but you know for the first time in quite a while I have a smile on my face and feel an over whelming sense of peace. Life is good when you've got God on your side.
    Let go and let God

Thanks. Don't be afraid to remind me of that from time to time. I know it, but just can't seem to keep that part right in my mindset...

If you are reffering to the part about life being good with God
focus on the law and the good shall become real
May his light shine in your world
