I am relly sorry for your loss, it must have left a terrible mark in your very being. The first part about the verse from Revelation describes what will happen when the forces of evil meet up with the forces of good. You Marsha already know that the battle has been won, that Christ our Lord & Saviour has already defeated the forces of death. Where o death is your victory, where o death is your sting, here Paul is quoting from Hosea 13:14. He goes on in 1 Cor. 15:55ff, to tell us that the sting of death is sin & the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
satan loves when believers fall out over details of scriptures, forgetting the main purpose, "To love one another" not to be arguing!!!! May our Lord give you peace as think on these verses, I love the verse in Mk. 6:31, when he calls each one of his disciples, when they are too busy with other things, to "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place & get some rest" Take some rest with the Saviour.
Keep your eyes upon Jesus
look full in his wonderful face
and the things of the earth
go strangely dim
in the light of his beauty & grace.
