Marsha, my husband, Jack, was on dialysis for 3 1/2 years and each Thanksgiving (Canadian) we went to Dialysis Camp where we rented a cottage and where he could just walk every other day to the dialysis unit with me instead of driving over 50 miles!

This was a wonderful time for us--10 days in a lonely part of the province very near to Algonquin Park and the leaves were glorious each year and the photo that you like was taken near there. What happy times we had there.

My mom had been on dialysis but luckily was up for a transplant just a year and a half later. Is it not just amazing how important even the kidneys are in the human structure? Glad to see that you remember the happy times.
    Keep smiling

Hi Lee... Thanks for telling us about your Mum. I'm so happy that she got a transplant. Jack was never even considered for a transplant as his heart was too damaged and could never have got him through the surgery and he had nine strokes in the last several years. The strokes, happily enough, never affected his limbs too much but only his short term memory until the one that took him Home.

Yes, I remember so many happy times. We had a good life together.

    Hi Ross...

No, he had high blood pressure. Two deadly things that kill kidneys--diabetes (he didn't have this) and high blood pressure. He had this probably his whole life and it was uncontrolled until it was too late and the damage was done.
