    JOY AND LONGING

Lord, the beauty that I see
In every plant, flower and tree
Brings such a longing to my heart
    That tears begin to start

But those tears are tears of joy
    My heart wants to rejoice
I am filled with prayer and praise
So awesome is the beauty and Your ways

The rose, the trees, lilies and foxglove
To know You created it all with such love
I pause to pray and take it all in
For I know You are there, and within

The trees with their branches upraised
I take their lead and with them sing praise
For all of creation sings to You
Should I not praise You too?

So I will follow Your creations lead
I will praise You heartily indeed
For the joy You have given to me
I will return to You gladly

    MY PRECIOUS ONE

My precious one, feeling so weary and alone.
You feel as though the world has forsaken you.
You see others who are welcomed and loved.
While you are there alone, needing to love and be loved.

I am here, I have always been here.
I call to you to come to Me.
You need never feel alone again My child
Of My love, there will never be an end.

Come to Me My precious one.
I Am meek and lowly, you can trust Me.
    I will love you unconditionally
For you are precious to Me.

The world will let you down,
They will hate and despise you.
But never fear, I Am with you.
I will share your pain and sorrow.

All I ask is that you trust Me.
When you are weak, I will carry you,
When in pain, I will comfort you.
And when you are sad, I will dry your tears.

You are so precious to Me.
I would not see you alone.
Take My hand, I will not let you go.
My love will help carry the heavy load.

    THE ROBIN

Going out into dawn’s early light
To feed the squirrels, bushy tailed and bright
I hear the sweet song of a robin
Sitting high in the tree, greeting the morning

He sits atop the highest limbs
His song sounding like a hymn
Greeting the sun’s first golden rays
As it peeks over the hills faraway

As the sun rises and its rays touch the tree
The robins red breast is lit with beauty
The red of his breast reminds, of the blood shed on Calvary
And the glow of the sunlight reminds, we are cleansed, made free

The song of the robin makes me wonder
If their song greeted my Saviour
On the morning of His resurrection,
Was all of creation there to greet Him with such song?

I am sure all of creation did sing that morning
For with the rising of Your precious Son
He conquered death and the grave
And in Him we have new life, no longer enslaved

That wonderful morning so long ago
When Jesus rose from the dead
    The world knew such joy
And it is with us today, so rejoice

For the joy of that resurrection morn
Is celebrated each new day we live in Him
If we would only open our eyes
We will see such wonders and hear new songs

For that little robin, singing a greeting to the dawn
Reminded me to give thanks to You
Because You set me free from sin and death
When I turned to You who died for me at Calvary

So let us give thanks for each new day
    Our precious Saviour has risen
And each new day is a chance to live for Him
Because He lives for us and in us

    IN THE GARDEN

I am reminded of a garden a long time ago

Where Jesus went to be alone and prayed

On the night he was betrayed

By one of His chosen own

I cannot imagine the love that sent Him there to pray

To pray to You His heavenly Father above

And I cannont imagine the agony of such love

That would send Him to the cross that day

His prayer that night would be heartfelt

To let the cup pass if it were possible

But He prayed to do His Father’s will and to be faithful

As He stayed there and knelt

It tears at my heart to know

The agony You suffered before the tree

Was because of Your love for Your Father and me

And knowing You would willingly go

For You came to live and die for me

Of Your love there is no end

In the blood You shed, I have been cleansed

Free from sin and shame because of Calvary

My blessed Saviour who prayed in the garden

Who’s tears and sweat and blood

Were shed for you and me

Gave His all for us so we may find pardon

I have been cleansed and set free

My Saviour lives in my heart

He dries my tears and brings me comfort

And by my side He will always be
