BIBLE STUDY - KNOW YOUR BIBLE
Why is Abraham such a significant person in the history of the world? Abram means exalted father. God called Abram to be the father of the nation of Israel. God said to him, I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing (Gen. 12:2). But God had more in store for Abram. When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers. Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations (Gen. 17: 1-5). How is Abraham the father of many nations? Abraham is the father of many nations through Christ. The apostle Paul penned these words, If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise (Gal. 3:29). Why is Abraham a significant person? Because through Abraham's line, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was born (Matt. 1: 1-16). Have you put your trust in Jesus? If not, why not? Please read the following Scriptures (John 3: 16; John 1: 12-13; Acts 4: 12; Rom. 10: 9-10; Acts 16: 30-31). After you have read this post, please view my videos on GOD TUBE and YOU TUBE.
