This means that we have the purpose to serve the Lord thru the great commission as long as we are here on earth.

7 We need to be open and in a place to where we can hear from Holy Spirit.

8 We need dont need to make the mistake many do and harden their hearts against God but humbly obey Him. Hebrews is referring to the period Israel was wandering in the wilderness and how they had to wander for 40 years because of their lack of faith.
