1Co 6:20
For ye
are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
The
error that Christ took our place on the cross as a substitution for us is found
nowhere in scripture.
Those who teach this error/lie dishonor Christ’s atonement, for God never had
anyone else qualified, tested, tried and proven sinless to be accepted by Him
as the perfect sacrifice to pay for all of our sins.
Had Christ not gone to the
cross, God would have destroyed the world, because there was no other sinless
sacrifice to pay for our sins other than Christ. Without Christ all sinners had
was immediate condemnation, death and eternal punishment. The Bible teaches us clearly in Scripture. Ro. 9:29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
Note: Some in error misinterpret Gen 22: 1-18 to be about God's substitution of the Ram in place of Abraham's son, and wrongly conclude Jesus was a substitution for our sins.
Scripture interprets scripture without contradiction we know a substitution is entirely different from that which is bought outright or purchased. The Bible teaches Jesus purchased, bought and paid for all of our sins forever by His atonement.
Scripture corrects all and any in need of correction showing forth that what is highlighted is the faith and obedience of Abraham as a model for all believers: Hebrews 11:8-10; Romans 4: 1-25.
1Jo 1:1
That
which was from the beginning, which we have
heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we
have looked upon, and our hands have
handled, of the Word of
life;
Rev 19:13
And he was clothed with
a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is
called The
Word of God.
Brothers
and sisters, let us the family of God whom He has made priests and kings under His
sole anointed Saviour, Mediator and High Priest Jesus Christ God the Son of God,
give Him our love, praises, and thanks for He is worthy: Rev 1:6.
Gal 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,
and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Dearly
beloveds thank God for sending His only begotten Son Jesus who freely gave His
life, shed His sinless blood and rose again to life forever, that all who believe
in Him shall have the forgiveness of all sins and eternal life. Our forgiveness
through the free gift of salvation is permanent and complete: Act 13:38 - Be
it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this
man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
Act 13:39 - And by him all that
believe are justified from all things, from which ye
could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Gal 2:21 - I
do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is
dead in vain.
As the
priests of God under our Saviour, High Priest, Mediator, let us defend our
faith from all comers as He Commands. Let us continually out of love and trust
in Him rest in His undying love and truth always comforting ourselves with the
sure knowledge of the truth that Jesus will never leave nor forsake us. Jesus
will never allow anything to separate us from Him.
God
commands us to never allow heretics nor the ignorant to undermine our faith and
trust in Jesus with error/lies that salvation is temporary and can be lost. This
blasphemes the atonement of Jesus denying the everlasting power of His blood
and the forgiveness of all sins through it to all who believe in Him.
Holy
people, we know the difference between the heretic and the ignorant is evident
in that the heretic will never repent or receive the truth no matter how many
times he or she hears it, while the ignorant will believe and receive the truth
when they are taught it and will hold onto it.
God does not get angry with the
ignorant or unlearned, we do not automatically comprehend the gospel fully when
we are first saved. Thank God none of us have to stay ignorant for God has given
us the gifts of the church and the body general to help us learn and come to
maturity in our knowledge of God.
Brothers
and sisters, we see that John the Baptist focuses and speaks in such a loving
and intimate level to his disciples and the Jews about the office of Lord Jesus. John knows he is
more than just a servant in that he refers to himself as the friend of the
bridegroom. One who is so intimate and connected to the bridegroom by a deep
lasting friendship and love and trust that he is invited to aid the bridegroom in the
marriage ceremony.
Jhn 15:15
Henceforth I
call you not servants; for the
servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I
have called you friends; for all things that I
have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Every believer
can rest confidently that we are the children of God and also made the friends
of Lord Jesus, who is our sufficiency and has made known to us the Word of God
by the wisdom and will of God not by the will of man. Feel free, holy brethren,
to study further on your own how the saints G40 hagios will have a part in the
marriage of the Lamb.
John
the Baptist focuses on the eternal
and superior office of the Christ to his disciples and the Jews:
Jhn 3:32
And what he
hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no
man receiveth his testimony.
Jesus
is the first to fully
know the gospel directly from His Father God and therefore is the first to preach it fully during
His earthly ministry without error or contradictions, although men still did
not understand it fully. Neither John the Baptist nor men knew who the Christ
would be when He appeared, although God gave John the Baptist knowledge by
which he would know the Christ.
Even
Jesus’ disciples didn’t understand the gospel message fully until after the resurrection
of Christ: Luk
24:45 - Then opened
he their understanding, that they might understand the
scriptures,
Paul
wrote: Eph 3:4Whereby, when ye read, ye may
understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is
now revealed…
Heb 2:3
How shall
we escape, if we neglect so
great salvation; which at the first began to be
spoken by the Lord, and was
confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
Heb 2:4 - God also bearing them witness, both with
signs and wonders, and with
divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his
own will?
Jhn 3:33
He
that hath received his testimony hath set to his
seal that God is true.
Because
scripture interprets scripture, without error nor contradiction, brethren, we
understand that John the Baptist in the above verse is not referring to those
who will believe on Jesus after His resurrection whom He will seal with the
Holy Spirit: Jhn 7: 38He that believeth on me, as the
scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39(But this spake he of the Spirit,
which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because
that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
What
John is declaring here is the absolute inerrant supremacy of the witness and office of Christ- that Jesus the Son of God has received the testimony
of the gospel without error nor contradiction because He is sinless, utterly
holy and God the Son equal and one with God the Father, of the same mind and spirit in
total communion with the Father and it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, He has set His seal, i.e. Jesus has absolutely guaranteed to the whole world forever, the
everlasting absolute truth authority, and inerrancy of the gospel so that all
who hear and believe can be absolutely certain that they will receive permanent
salvation and all of the promises of God: 2Co 1:20
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
Love and truth forever,
serola
