The voice of one calling out from this desert of faith, make straight the way for the Lord!

    STAND UP

Rev. 3:14-16, To the angel of the church in Laodicea write; these are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold, nor hot. I wish that you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm- neither hot, nor cold- I am about to spit you out of my mouth. (NIV)

I’ve heard this church compared to the church in America. I wish I could agree, for though Christ didn’t have good things to say about them, they were more alive than we are. We are not lukewarm church, we are ice cold and the ice is starting to thicken. STAND UP CHURCH!

The United States is probably the last free bastion of Christianity left in the world, and it is under a constant attack from a secular minority.

Separation of church and state, has been taken so far out of context from what the founding Fathers intended, that God is rapidly being removed from this country by a few who scream like toddlers and throw temper tantrums till we silently submit.

The Ten Commandments removed from every public place, why not if we can see them, we have no choice but admit our need of a savior. Same sex marriage, abortion and so much more, God’s authority is under constant attack from a barrage of decadence, and we do NOTHING!

STAND UP CHURCH! Or just roll over and die quietly, the choice is yours.

In this day and age of doing what feels good, calling anyone to accountability is lost. The name of Jesus, I guess should be shoved in a drawer or the back of a closet at home and forgotten about. After all what Christ taught, what God says is not politically correct. SSHHH, don’t let the word of the Lord be heard, SSSHH, don’t let people know they are going to go to hell without him, don’t share crazy, outdated ideas. Are you some kind of freak? We wouldn’t want people to suffer from something like moral purity, God forbid.

The choice is yours church, stand up, make your opinions, beliefs public or we will simply be cast asunder by the outspoken few. We must stand strong and be heard, or simply roll over and die for lack of commitment. I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to stand silently by while the God of all creation is evicted from my country.

Christ came to this world to save us, to set us right in our sin with God and to remain silent while he is cast out of our society, is WRONG! I find it incredible to fathom, Christ paid for our sins, cast out demons, healed lepers, gave the blind their eyes, the deaf their ears and made cripples walk. And now sadly, the body of Christ, his own church; is crippled.

STAND UP CHURCH! Let your sins be forgiven. Cry out, let the words of grace, the words of life be heard.

    I WANT TO SEE JESUS!

It is my standing  prayer that God opens the hearts and minds of many

I have in my hands two boxes,

Which God gave me to hold.

He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box,

And all your joys in the gold."

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes,

Both my joys and sorrows I stored,

But though the gold became heavier each day,

The black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black,

I wanted to find out why,

And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole,

Which my sorrows had fallen out by.

I showed the hole to God, and mused,

"I wonder where my sorrows could be!"

He smiled a gentle smile and said,

"My child, they’re all here with me."

I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,

Why the gold and the black with the hole?

"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,

The black is for you to let go."

Not sure who wrote this or where it originated. A friend sent it to me and it said to pass it on, so here you go.

    Unity

Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace. Eph.4:3 (NIV)

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be profits, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up untill we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Eph. 4:11-13 (NIV)

I f we attain to nothing else I believe that unity is important. We as christians must stand together and live as one. One body, one faith and to quote Lee one bride. We are a family and must stand together to face adversity, head on. If the world divides us and causes doctrinal differences to be the deciding factor as to how they see us, the ultimate outcome is a loss for the Lord. We as a family must set aside petty differences and stand in the gap, united, lest we fall down the cavernous depths of failure. One way or the other we are united.

    God bless

raise your hands and glorify the Lord!

Dead to sin, alive in Christ

What shall we say then?Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:1-4 (NIV)

This is Paul's response to a prior comment he had made. A response he gave that people not think that they have been saved , so they need not worry about their sins. Could you possibly think with a right mind that it doesn't matter if you continue in a sinful manner that the grace of our Lord has you covered so it's okay. I would argue that if you are truly alive in Christ you will be aware of that which is wrong.I would find it hard to believe that our Lord is watching and saying , hey guys look at this one, he's robbing a liquer store and he's gonna kill the clerk. Wow! I'm proud of that one, he's really taking advantage of my gift. Get him a crown, his faith is obviously strong. I think not

Stand firm on your faith. The foundation of our Lord Jesus Christ can support you. Let others see that you have been healed by grace, that you need not sucomb to the desires of the flesh,be strong, you just might be the only bible somebody has the chance to see.

    Be made new gloify God

    A voice

Comfort, comfort my people says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has beeen completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the Lord's hand double for her sins. A voice of one calling: In the desert prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall be made level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it.

For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Isaiah 40:1-5 (NIV)

    PEOPLE GET READY!

If the Lord came tommorrow, can you honestly say you are prepared. Make that voice of one, the voice of reason, make it the voice of many. Shout to the Lord that the neighbors might here. Be bold and couragious, don't stuff your faith in a back pocket or a closet at home. Let that faith stir your heart, let your heart stir you to action.

    JESUS IS COMING!

May the Lord fill your life with his love

I know the plans I have for you

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jer.29:11-13 (ESV)

Seek him with all your heart, search out his will, let that be your desire and he shall gaurd you and guide you unto his plan. For he knows well what that plan is and will make it clear to you if you seek in eanest and invest your heart.

Lift your hands and your heart toward Jesus, give him glory, even if we don't know his hair color, he still loves us

    Slow Train

I had a vision. I saw sorrow and pain.
Satan coming, on a slow moving train.
Temptation surrounds us in stereo sound.
Could it be that we're all hellbound?
Who's going to lead us away from sin?
When the preachers are all buying in.
    Hell's fire- reaching Vatican city,
Rome will never be the same.
    Bishop plays a lowly pawn,
    in the King's great game.
    Look around, smoke is rising
    all across this town.
No one racing, for glory's crown.
Smoke billows up an acrid smell,
all are running, toward the gates of hell.
Slow train is picking up speed.
Death comes riding on his pale steed.
Drop to my knees, Lord I pray,
that all turn, toward the grace we need.
Slow train is picking up speed.

    What is truth?

Pilate therefore said to him, are you a king then? Jesus answered, you say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice. John 18: 37 (NKJV)

Do you know the truth? Do you hear the voice of Jesus? Or do you simply go through the motions living each day like there is nothing special. Not testifying to the grace which has given you life. Speak of the truth, and the truth shall set you free!

vs 38  says Pilate said to him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, I find no fault in him at all. (NKJV)

Pilate found no fault in him who came to cover your iniquities, can you say the same for yourself? I can't and I'm sure if you search for the truth, you will know that you can't either.

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. Romans 5:23,24 (NLT)

Seek the truth, dedicate your life to finding it, live the truth, hear Jesus' voice and the truth shall set you free.

Jesus is the way the truth and the life, live yours for him for eternity

    God bless

    Time to breath

So I gotta say, My family and I headed to Vancouver Island, to do some camping. Way north on the island where really the biggest population is bears. I think the black bears are more receptive to the gospel than the brown and cougars are possibly the devil's spawn(just kidding), but it was a great time till the tent started taking on water.I live in the pacific nw so you'd think a little rain wouldn't be that big of a deal but this gave new meaning to water bed and I don't mind walking or talking in my sleep, but the backstroke is a different story.I guess the important thing is to give praise. It is some of the most beautiful country I have seen,it was quiet and we enjoyed the time together so all in all it was a wonderful time.Oh yeah and the lodge up the road had an opening so all was not lost, but it's good to be home.I did come to the realization that no matter how tainted I might be God can still use me for his glory. I read 1st samuel while we were gone and even though David was a man after God's own heart, he messed up,ALOT! I think we all must realize God uses the bruised apples more than he uses the pretty ones to do his work.If we truly repent our sin, all is forgiven and thus Christ truly died for something remarkable, YOU.

Give God the glory and live this life for Jesus under The Spirit's guidance

    Peter, the thinker

Sorry I couldn't go away without completing the cycle. I started out with the 3 disciples that I so much admire, but I left one out. The 3, Stephen, Paul and last but not least Peter. If you could rap these three up into one package that is what I desire to be.

Peter was the thinker in the group. I believe he thuoght everything through before saying anything, once Jesus had been resurected. Before he made some misteps in judgement and I think he learned from them and truly wanted to be sure what he said was correct.

He was a fisherman named Simon, but Christ called him Cephas (Peter) which means the rock. I know we are told Jesus loved John (The apostle Jesus loved)But truly Peter led the church and first included the gentiles into God's plan of salvation. Peter may have stumbled a couple of times while in the presence of Jesus, but wouldn't you? Yes he denied knowing Christ, yes Jesus asked three times if Peter truly loved him hoping for a little more faith, but Jesus knew from the beginning upon which rock to build the church. True Paul was more adept at sharing his faith, yes John wrote more books of the bible, but Peter was the one who made the decisions.Peter let us know where the church was going.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 1 Peter 4:1-2 (NIV)

1 Peter3:15  But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks you to give reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.  (NIV)

Heavenly Father it is my prayer that you bless me with the powerful courage of Stephen's faith, the focus and determination of Paul and the intilectual thought of Peter. This I pray in Jesus name

Be a hellwrecking prayer warrior, live every moment of your life for Jesus

    2 Peter

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have recieved all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his devine nature and escape the worlds corruption caused by human desires. 2 Peter 1: 3,4 (NLT)

    Oh, to be like Paul

Let's begin this story from the beginning not in the middle, lest we miss the entirety of this so very commited apostles witness. Paul formerly known as Saul is a man who very much lived the song Amazing Grace.

Acts 8:1 Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of stephen.(NLT)

Acts 8:3 But Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house,he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison. (ESV)

Looking at the man from this perspective I have to say, the guy was a wretch. Saul is at this point in time showing the determination that is so much a part of his future ministry. His entire being was wrapped around the destruction of the church, and had the Lord not interjected his will upon Saul, knowing his focus, he just might have done it. In his journey through life Saul was very lost.

While on a mission to round up followers of Christ Saul had a face to face chat with Jesus, that left him blind. He had to be led the rest of the way to Damascus, where a disciple named Ananias healed his eyes in the name of Jesus, baptized him and there he was probably still a wretch, but now not lost and blind.Paul took that determination of Saul and became one of the Lord's greatest disciples. He wrote nearly half the books of the new testament and completely devoted the rest of his life to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!

Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.

May you all find the peace of my Lord

    The faith of stephen

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have faith unlike that of anyone today? To be so convinced that your beliefs were correct, you were willing to be faithful to them till death took you home to your Lord. To believe so wholeheartidly you were willing to beg for forgivness of those that were taking your life. Stephen, in my opinion is an example of what  true faith is.To face your last breath and still be preaching ,is the model by which I choose to pattern my life.

Acts 7:59,60  While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, recieve my spirit." Then he fell on his knees and cried out,"Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep.(NIV)

Let's put this in context here. Stephen didn't just lay down for a nap because he was tired, he was in the process of having rocks thrown at him untill he was dead. With his last breath he asked that these men not be held accountable for his murder. What had Stephen done that was so heinous? Had he killed a family of 4 while driving drunk? No. Had he stolen a wealthy mans identity and sucked his savings dry? No. Had he molested a teenaged girl? No. His only crime was believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. How would you react in the face of such adversity? I have to believe I would be catching as many rocks as possible and throwing them back.

Would you lash out and curse at those who were surely going to take your life, or would you lay your hopes on the Lord and trust your salvation was secure? Maybe you think the question is irrelavent? Maybe though we are not so far from the time when it is a reality again. Continue in your faith, be asurred in the promise of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ and stand firm in your belief. We must at all cost Glorify the Lord.

    Jesus saves, believe it

    Evangelism and the glory days

I've heard a number of people say the day is over for the likes of Billy Graham. I have to wonder, is Rev. Graham done? Not that I've heard, yes maybe his big ticket days are winding down, maybe not,but does that mean that there is no room for someone new to step up and draw people closer to God?Has any of you ever been to a Promise Keepers convention? Wow! I have to say that was probably the most incredible experience of my life.Yes it was a production, the music, the big name speakers, and yes a lot of hype. But at the end when it came time for the alter call and I witnessed hundreds of people going up to give there lives over to Christ, I was moved beyond belief. I hope that we never get beyond that kind of thing and I would encourage anyone who has never been there to try it.Having helped to lead several people to a relationship with Christ, I will admit that it is one of the most gratifying experiences one can encounter. Having watched many walk away from their relationship with Christ, I will admit, that is disheartening. That is why I am convinced that a discipleship approach to evangelism is a far more workable program than just delivering a message and walking away Are the days of big ticket evangelists gone?

I think not, however I believe that the approach needs to be looked at and maybe some other changes need to take place, but as long as we have supposed ministers on tv taking millions of dollars a year from unsuspecting people, I believe there is still a place for legitimate preachers of God's word , to lead others to Christ.

Jesus is the light of the world.

    God bless

    CALL TO BATTLE

The church must take right ground in regard to politics. Politics are a part of a religion in a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God...He will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics. - Charles Finney

This comment was made many years ago. Charles Finney is considered by many to be the Father  of the revival movement. It is not a new thought and it holds true today.

They are saying now al quida is preparing to attempt to hit the USA with nukes. I would hope that they do not truly have that capablility, but who knows. The time has come America and the rest of the free world to glorify our God

If God is for us, than who can be against us? what you have to ask yourself, is God still for us? Yes he is faithful, yes he loves this world. But we are becoming more and more faithless. We seem to care less and less about God. There is in this country an outspoken minority hellbent on removing God from our daily life, and we stand by and watch silently. God will either bless or curse this country, does God have enough patience to watch us do nothing to defend him , yet sill defend us?

I hope and pray, we o Lord humbly bow in reverence and glorify you. Protect us from ourselves

A stroll down the Roman road

As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one. Romans 3:10

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23

No one righteous, all fall short of God's expectations, let's face it we are in trouble.

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. Romans 5:12

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord . Romans 6:23

I,m seeing a little bit of hope here, but realisticly, is'nt it more important to worry about having a good time? Live for the moment, right? I mean eternity is a long way down the road and it will still be there even if I'm late.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you  believe and are justified, and it  is with your mouth that you confess and are saved  Romans 10: 9,10

Still think that you have plenty of time? Still think you don't have to give your life up to Christ yet? Still think you can do it on your own?Still think you don't need a savior? I'll pray for you then because you can't make it on your own you are not only going to be late for the salvation God gave through his Son, you are going to be MIA and spending eternity in a intollerable blast furnace , wishing the lust and desires would stop, that the torment might subside just a little. But they won't, and the time for hope will be gone.

For, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  Romans 10: 13

So despite yourself God had enough faith in you that he gave you an out. All you have to do is ask!

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  John. 3:16

(all verses NIV) except John 3:16 which is NLT

Glorious God it is my prayer that you bless those that don't have a personal relationship with Jesus with the truth of your presence, that you brighten the day with the light of the world, so all might see the way.

    Can God use me?

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, what in the world could God use me for? a question I have often asked myself, especialy on those days when my faith seems to go on vacation. But lets think about it for just a moment, if your at the top of your game, firing on all eight cylanders, or whatever analogy you'd like to use here you're at a place where doing something spectacular isn't really going to glorify him. The Bible is full of stories about people who were'nt going anywhere in life, But God used them to lift up his people and glorify himself. Look at moses, look at Elijah, look at Joseph Not one of these peple was in a good place in life when God called them to do a job for him. Yet on every occasion God stepped up, carried these people through their task, raised their level of faith and got the glory He so richly deserves at the same time. So the next time you think that God couldn't use you, keep in mind that you're in a place where God can use you best to lift you up and fullfil his purpose at the same time. Need a lift in life? Give it over to God

May God be glorified through your life

    Ross

1 Peter3:15  But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks you to give reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.  (NIV)

Be prepared to answer questions. Be prepared to share your faith. Be prepared to lead others in the direction of the Lord Jesus Christ, whom should always be in our hearts and on our minds

May the Lord be your guide on this journey through life

    The race

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.  1 Cor.9:24-27 (NIV)

Paul, a man so devoted to sharing the gospel ,that even after being beaten, tossed out on the side of the road and left for dead, went back and cotinued to preach, That in my opinion is admirable. To be that determined of ensuring that all knew the Lords plan of salvation is a credit to his faith. Here he tells us we can't just talk the talk, we must also walk the walk,  control our desires and be an example to others through our actions.Strive daily to show others why Jesus lives. Strive daily to be a beacon of testimony to the glory of the Lord. Give noone grounds to judge you a hypocrite and run to win your crown.

    God bless

    Grace

My walk alone, through this life is now all but gone.

Christ, opened my eyes, showed where I'd gone wrong.

I've seen trials and torment, now  I'm way out on a limb.

And find my desire, placed well within him.

I've heard the truth, a glorious sound.

Now I walk with him, that his grace does abound.

He's opened my eyes, to the life that is light

Now his grace I shall carry, my God given right.

Humbly o Lord I submit to your will

    Fishing

I believe if I was a non believer and I heard some guy spouting about Jesus and claiming to be a fisher of men I would walk away. Think about it a fish is swimming around next thing he knows that morsel of food he just ate as sustainence is dragging him to shore or onto a boat. He's hooked , trapped and being pulled to his doom. I know those are the words of Jesus and they paint a very good picture of what is expected to a group of fishermen, but maybe we should rethink the analogy for today. To those that don't believe Christ is sometimes scarry, sometimes just sillyand they might even think we are simple for our faith. Maybe I'm way of base, but maybe the time has come to look at another way Christ used to call people to faith.Just two simple words which have such far reaching  implecations. Follow me, Jesus said. Follow me and look at the results, he took a group of men under his wing taught them everything they needed to know,he nurtured them in their growth encouraged them, served with them and for them, then sent them out into the world.

DISCIPLESHIP Christ's true form of evangelism. Think about it.

In Christ, of Christ and for Christ

There are people out there that believe they are not deserving of salvation. They are correct. there are peple out ther whom feel they are. They are incorrect. For if left on our own, all are lost. Christ said, None are Good, but God no not one, but there is hope for all. He or she that feels they are deserving, are far more lost, than those whom feel they are not. There is nothing God  has not seen before, nothing you could do that would cause him to look more harshly upon you than your neighbor. God has seen it all before. That is why he provided payment for our sins of himself on our behalf.

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.   ECC 1:9 (NIV)

It matters not what you have done. God has seen it before and has already paid the price for your transgressions. Through Jesus he gives us hope, through Jesus he gives us life.

I don't know what you have done, I don't know where you have been, nor do I care, it is not my place to judge. But I do know you have to make a choice. I can't decide upon your eternity that is between you and Jesus.

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15 (NIV)

Make your choice ,pornagraphy, money, possesions, self, where is your heart, what is your greatest desire? what you treasure is where your heart is also. The choice is yours. I choose Jesus and eternal gratification, rather than fleeting instant gratification.

    In His service

    Ross
