Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2 NKJV

    NEVER TRAVEL ALONE

I think sometimes about when I was a very young man . I had great expectations out of life. I thought I could solve all my problems alone. But I soon found out that no one can travel the road of life alone. We have to have someone to turn too. We will eventually break down, no matter how strong mentally or physically we are. You see we were not made to travel alone. God had something more in mind. A strong relationship with Him.He gives us that added strength we need to overcome our troubles and problems as we travel down life's road. When we depend on Him we can endure and overcome all things.... Matthew 11:28-29 "Come to me, all of you who are weary and loaded down with burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Place my yoke up on you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

    NEVER BE AFRAID

Ever had something happen unexpectedly that really gave you a scare? I remember several times I had close calls. Just driving to work or other places when right out of no where comes a car or truck and nearly smacks you, or being afraid in the night. Or maybe when a Doctor gives us or a loved one a bad diagnosis.  We all have had close encounters with something that really frightened us. Psalm 53:3 says, What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. What a comfort. We don't have to be afraid. God is our confindence our trust is in Him. We cxan lean on Him. We can depend on Him... For the Lord shall be thy confindence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. Proverbs 3:26

    NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD

This is a good visual...One night in a church service a young woman felt the tug of God at her heart. She Responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. The young woman had a very rough past, involving alcohol, drugs, and prostitution But, the change in her was evident. As time went on she became a faithful member of the church. She eventually became involved in the ministry, teaching young children. It was not very long until this faithful young woman had caught the eye and heart of the pastor's son. The relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans. This is when the problems began. You see, about one half of the church did not think that a woman with a past such as hers was suitable for a pastor's son. The church began to argue and fight about the matter. So they decided to have a meeting. As the people made their arguments and tensions increased, the meeting was getting completely out of hand. The young woman became very upset about all the things being brought up about her past. As she began to cry the pastor's son stood to speak. He could not bear the pain it was causing his wife to be. He began to speak and his statement was this: 'My fiancee's past is not what is on trial here. What you are questioning is the ability of The blood of Jesus to wash away sin. Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, does it wash away sin or not?' The whole church began to weep as they realized that they had been slandering the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Too often, even as Christians, we bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers and sisters. Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person completely then it cannot cleanse us completely. If that is the case, then we are all in a lot of trouble. What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus! End of case!!!! Some may have read this before but I thought is was worth reading again.....'Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.' Psalm 55:23

    God Cares For His Flock

What a tender picture Isaiah paints of the Lord God in the 40th chapter of his writings. The prophet assured people that the Lord would feed His flock. The Lord still shepherds His people today as He did back then.. Gods word is our spiritual food. When we feed on it daily we are assured of spiritual sustenance. The Lord is surely concerned for our spiritual health. He also will help us when we like lambs , are weak. He will carry us next to himself, giving us His warmth and also assuring us that we are safe in His presence. John  promises in John 10:14 Jesus, is the good shepherd. He knows who are his and laid down His life for them. Knowing that we have a shepherd that cares  for us so much should give us great comfort  and keep us close to the fold...Isaiah 40:11. He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those that have their young.

    Gods Inclusive Offer

Paul stressed to his readers.that there was no difference between the Jew and the Greek in God's sight. Both were lost and needed to be saved. To us believers, there is no difference in an American, Filipino,Chinese, Japanese, or any other race or nationality. The Lord is over all who call upon Him. Everyone is equal in Gods sight. We are all sinners, Jesus calls all people to call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. As Christians we need to put our love for Jesus in action, following His command to reach out to others. We also should be inclusive of all people when sharing the gospel, even those beyond our family, race, or culture. Romans 10:13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

    Peacemakers Or Problem Starters?

Grow Up---The story is told about a woman who faithfully attended a small rural church. When the membership decided it needed a new organ, this lady generously placed a check in the offering plate to cover the entire cost. A few months later, the pastor persuaded the congregation to try some new methods for reaching the lost. Disgruntled and against the new ideas, the lady approached him  and threatened to take back her donation. Doesn't the woman's reaction remind us of a child's? If she didn't get her way she would take her ball and go home. Most of us know people who act in this manner. But as Christians  we are to grow up and live in a Godly manner. The worlds is already plagued with envy, hate,, and anger. We can be an example by being peacemakers instead of  problem starters....1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things.

    Thankful Spirit

The magic of a thankful spirit is that it has the power to  replace anger with love, resentment with happinesss, fear with faith, worry with peace, the desire to dominate with the wish to play on a team, self preoccupation with concern for the needs of others, guilt with an open door to forgiveness, sexual impurity with honor and respect, jealousy with joy at anothers success. All these things we can have when we have a thankful spirit. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone had a thankful spirit?...Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body  you were called to peace. And be thankful.Colossians 3:15...

    Obeying God

We all have our share of lifes trials and troubles, we often find ourselves tired and discouraged. Not everyday is a good day. Not everyday ends in success. But every day is an opportunity to serve the living God. Abram heard Gods call and obeyed Him. He believed Gods promise and worshiped Him. When God calls on us to do something we need not to be afraid to say yes Lord. God gives us the power to do what he calls us to do. We should be bold and obey God... And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an alter unto the LORD, Who appeared unto him. Genesis 12:7..

    Count The Cost

Jesus' plain instructions to anyone who wanted to follow Him  was to give the matter careful thought because there would be a cost involved. We can either cling to our material possessions as if they were really ours forever, or we can acknowledge the fact that all we have is actually Gods anyway. We can't fret over possessions and choose to follow Jesus at the same time. That would be like trying to learn to swim while still holding on to the pool side. To swim we must turn loose and have hands free. Likewise we can't hold onto our stuff and have free hands to lift to God. We must choose which it will be: Let go of all that hinders a close relationship with our Father or cling to the priority of worldly things  and experiance broken fellowship with Him....So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple Luke 14:33....
