Let God be praised always, for He alone is worthy, faithful and true. As I mentioned in the previous post, children of the Living God, I would give a partial outline so that the direction of the study would be easier to follow: 1.DEALING WITH THE PAST: WHAT IS MEANT BY THE PAST? 2.WHAT IS IN THE PAST? (what it contains) 3.WHERE IS THE PAST? 4.SHOULD OR CAN WE FORGET THE PAST? The rest of the study will have it’s own heading. DEALING WITH THE PAST: WHAT IS MEANT BY THE PAST? (PART ONE) Many have well written on this topic and I pray that this study will be a blessing also. Dear saints, we will first look at the past from a natural stand point. The reason for this will be apparent further along in the study. One does not have to be an intellectual, guru, or pundit to understand these things, however, the dictionary defines the past as everything that is not current or present. Continuing to speak in a natural sense, children of light, If we could see the past in terms of a box, and every second that passed would be placed into the box, this would be a very simplistic but basic description of what is meant by the past. Every living human being has a past. The past more specifically means a history of a persons physical, mental and emotional and spiritual development over Time, from birth, various stages of childhood, adulthood to old age, and death. Interwoven into this is the nature, quality, and manner in which these relations were conducted with, by, for and between parental and /or caretakers and other persons along this continuum of the persons life. Although all this seems pretty cut and dried, these things have consequences, sometimes in the most remarkable ways. I will be giving some hypothetical examples later on, regarding the effects of the past. I don’t want to make these posts over long, so we will continue next time. Again I want to thank those brothers and sisters who gave me permission to use their works in my ministry to the saints. Your work is given unchanged and credited to you along with the location of your web site. The saints and others are being blessed through you. Anyone desiring can freely use any of my works here. DEALING WITH THE PAST Dear children of the Living God these are just some of the scriptures that will inform this study, and others will be presented throughout the body of the study. These scriptures I pray will nourish, encourage, strengthen, and be of a help to the saints, and bring glory to the God of all consolation and hope. This will be followed by a partial working table of contents that will be helpful in following and understanding the direction of the study. Saints, let us begin: Ro 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Ro 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Ro 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 2Pe 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 2Pe 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Phil 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, Phil 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Ro 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Ro 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Ro 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Ro 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Ro 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2Co 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 2Co 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. Pr 22:10 Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease. Ps 119:22 Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. 2Co 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2Co 10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 1Pe 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. 1Pe 3:13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? 1Pe 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; 1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 1Pe 3:16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 1Pe 3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. Ps 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Ps 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Pr 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Pr 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Pr 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. love serola

IDOLATRY (part 32) Modern Day Idolatry -Addendums (final) So Children of light, this particular study on idolatry has come to an end, and I pray that the Holy Spirit will use it to encourage every saint, and to help every saint encourage one another in the Lord. I pray above all that the name of the triune God has been and will continue to be exalted above every name that is named. I pray we will be emboldened to love Him more and more, so that our private lives are the same as our public lives in Him. Some saints are still concerned that there is a great deal of emphasis put on the church building, and that the church facility is held in higher esteem than the saints who are the real and true church. I pray for those saints who have not been greeted properly, and with the respect due to those whom Christ died for. Let us pray that God will open up the understanding of many under-shepherds to greet the saints with: “saints welcome to the building” rather than an anonymous general welcome to the church, as though the building was holy, which it is not. I pray let it start with each of us, to honor God and His Son Jesus so that when we go to gather with the saints for worship etc. let us not say anymore that we are going to church, rather let us each say something like this: “ I and all the saints are the church, and I look forward to meeting with the brothers and sisters, for worship, fellowship, teaching etc.” As I have said in earlier parts of this study, I have not painted with a broad brush, for there are countless saints and overseers who understand that the facility is nothing, and that the true church is God’s people. Tell and encourage other saints to identify themselves properly in honor of what Christ has done. Pray for ourselves and others that we will consciously walk daily with the knowledge that , we respect our pastors and overseers, but every saint in general is a priest and a king, able ministers of the gospel upon the earth, and that we are not to be confined just to a building, but God has sprinkled us liberally to be salt and light upon the earth, to make it tolerable, and through whom He will perform His work. Finally holy brothers and sisters let us examine what we believe to see if it is in line with Gods word. Let us individually and as the local church sit down and examine the scriptures so that we will avoid idolatry. God’s word is the final and only standard that will bring honor and glory to the Lord. Let us be true to the One, who is truth, let us love the One who first loved us and gave Himself for us. Let us obey the One who alone is worthy of our worship honor and praise. Let us love Him in everything that we say and do. Finally let us have a spiritual mirror in our hearts that we will always be looking at to ensure that we look like our Lord in our thoughts, actions, and walk in this present age. Thanks to all those who gave me permission to use the materials on their blogs, in spiritual care packages, in my ministry to the saints. None of your works are changed in any way and properly presented also as to your web page. God bless you greatly for your generosity and willingness to send spiritual nourishment and care to the saints. Love serola
